In the context I don't believe he means reparations so much as how bout we don't KEEP crapping on them, and maybe acknowledge we did so in the first place.

That don't seem to unreasonable a policy to me.

The concept of paying reperations when those who committed the acts, and those who suffered under them, are all dead and prolly playin poker in purgatory is ridiculous though, I will say that.

Still there's a lot we CAN do, starting with not continuing to fuck them over - we really DO need to clean house of the corrupt bastards in charge of native american issues, and make it abundantly clear to the police that killing some poor black druggie is no longer acceptable policy which results in a paid vacation.

That'd be a START, you know.

Here's an idea, why not stop feeding the inhumane cycle which is mainly responsible for breaking up the black family ? Hopefully the damage can be turned around, but generations of fatherless black families is the real crime here, not so much what has been done to " fuck them over " . At some point, there HAS to be accountability for their own. The sooner, the better.

Yeah, as Reagan use to say " the soft bigotry of low expectations" . Let the parents use vouchers or at least make charter schools available, w/ out the control of the local , FAILING school boards in the inner cities. Here in Atlanta, a charter school was going to be built in a run down part of town, as part of a revitalizing effort. Brand new gear, new facilities, new everything, damn near everything a private school gets, and the local kids weren't going to be charged a DIME. The catch ? The school would not be subject to answer to the Atlanta School Board, ( which is a flat out joke, anyways ) so the board turned it down. Too concerned w/ not having the power, the school board was, and so the children paid the price

...well,. almost. Thankfully, the school got so much support from the community, that it could not be denied.

Here's my solution to reparations, and it's a simple one:

Introduce a bill into Congress that states that any individual who personally owns, or has owned, slaves MUST pay reparations to any individual who comes forward with proof that said individual is, or has been, one of those slaves.

That's it. Simple and direct. And anyone who has personally profited from slavery or personally suffered because of it is covered.

As to reparations, I'd say that affirmative action is a form of reparations. And if that isn't enough I'd point out that over 364,000 died for the Cause of the Union (which ultimately included the abolishment of slavery) while more than 254,000 Confederate soldiers died for the South. That's a lot of blood to settle an issue.

It can. There are millions of strong black families out there...even ones from one or both parents coming out of single or no-parent homes.

I note for the record that a strong black family is most often well educated, has good employment, or has a record of military service. Such families are also about as likely to be Republican as a similar family of white makeup.
