Saw The Dark Knight.
Thought it was... okay.......

Some funny moments. Some ZOMG! WTF?? moments.

It'll be much better once Lucious Fox figures out how to make a tiny fucking voice synthesizer for Batty Man's cowl so he doesn't have to rasp and growl like some hack anime voice-over. ^__^

hi all

It's been a long day. People seem to be under the deluded misconception that I give a damn who they bank with. They keep telling me that they aren't happy with the bank I represent (I don't actually work for them) and they're going to switch. I don't care. I don't even have any money with that bank anyway.

Good news is my driving instructor told me that I'm ready for my practical test and he's going to book it next week.

God help the world when I ge tmy licence, lol

You know Lassy I think we had this very same conversation the last big crash.... It seems whenever you "muss" up me Pub the site dies! (or I am having a complete psychotic breakdown) would not be a big surprise there

I thought the Dark Knight was good. Sitting in the Theatre when they showed Harvy in the hospital (and every time after) and hearing all the "OMG That is so gross" was fun.

And I have to say... I liked Ledger as the Joker.

Now I would like to point out that I was never a Ledger fan. As a matter of fact I really did not care much for any of his roles. I almost boycotted the movie when I heard he was in it.

They put a different spin on the Clown Prince and it worked for this version of the movies. Too bad he can never take up the make-up again.

HUGS my twin (Zero) ...my mom bought me presents I truly didn't want and which are now in boxes on top of the Christmas presents she got me that I hate and next to last years sucky birthday presents ( she means well but as far as she's concerned I still have the same tastes and interests and I did when I was 12...hence the 5 foot tall stuffed animals and Cat in the Hat lamp)

Okay, for the sake of MsB's calm not being disturbed I will now shift into Mom mode:

HK did not say the movie SUCKED, she just failed to find it "mind blowing". She may very well have enjoyed it quite a bit. Or not.

She inquired into what portions of it you found so amazingly amazing, as she apparently did not share the same opinion and was (pure conjecture here) probably wondering if she'd missed something sneaky.
There are very few movies I've ever walked out of saying "whoa.. AWESOME!", and the Batman franchise has not been one of them up to now.
I haven't seen it, and have taken to waiting until movies come out on DVD, so specifics might make me want to actually go into a theater and plonk down fifteen bucks. Otherwise I'll probably just give the awesomeness a miss.

Haven't seen 'Dark Knight' yet - if can't persuade husband, will go see it with a friend of mine. We like to check out Christian Bale's, er, acting skills, yeah, that's it...

ps other film recommed - 'The Prestige'. (DVD, not recent release.) Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman. In tight trousers. The storyline is good, too.

haven't seen dark knight yet but thoroughly enjoyed Wall.e which we saw this weekend, think dark knight is next.

It's far too hot today, fans going full tilt and it's still stifling, sat working on maths and wondering when the hell my toe is going to get operated on but focussing on the pile of maths which is kenda crazy to distract me.

Lemon Meringue Pie
directly lifted from Gorgeous Cakes by Annie Bell.

Half a 16oz box of graham crackers
1/2C unsalted butter, melted
Finely grated xest and juice of 4 lemons
1 14oz can condensed milk
4Lg eggs, room temp, separated
1/2C superfine sugar

Whizz crackers to fine crumbs in processor. Put in bowl, add butter, toss until crumbs are evenly coated. Press onto sides and bottom of 8" springform pan (3" sides). Start with sides, then do bottom, pressing down with fingers.

Preheat oven to 350F. After zesting and before juicing, roll lemons on counter to release the juice. Comboine zest and jice with condensed milk in a bowl, beating until you have a smooth cream. Beat in egg yolks and pour on top of crust. Using clean beaters, beat whites in large bowl until they rise to a froth. Sprinkle sugar over them, 1Tbsp at a time, beating well with each addition until you have a glossy stiff meringue.
Mound meringue on top of cream, taking it to the edge of the shell. Bake 30 minutes r until surface us lightly golden and crusty, and custard is set. Remove and cool. Run knife around the edge to loosen, then unhinge sides. Pie is best the day it's made. If you refridgerate it, bring it up to room temp before serving.

See, what you need to do is to wrap asparagus in parma ham, (three spears to a slice) tip over a pot of cream, add black pepper and a scratch of parmesan to taste, and bake that sucker for twenty minutes or so...

Particularly good with fresh bread to mop up the sauce, and a glass of cold white wine.
