Thought of this when reading the thread about 'comfort' movies.
So I was wondering if you'd all be willing to admit to shows/films that you really like that maybe are derided by most people. Or just aren't that popular. Or maybe they are just full of so much cheese that people laugh at them. Maybe they are really badly acted.
But for whatever reason you still like them.

So 'confess' here and all your sins may be forgiven. And maybe you'll find you're not alone in what you like!!

So to get this started:

I have a soft spot for true life movies.
Things like Switched At Birth (featuring a young Alyson Hannigan in a small role), Solomon's Choice, Family Rescue being some of my favourites.
They can often feature some pretty well known people either that didn't quite make the big leagues or were still early on in their career.

Also I am a big Dawson's Creek fan, even in the later seasons when most people seemed to stop watching. There is just something about the show that I like, even with all the soppy lines and back-and-forth relationships.
Plus I think Michelle Williams is a talent to watch out for as she is a great actress.

There's a couple for you. I hope I'm not alone....

I confess to watching Dancing with the Stars, every once in a while. At least I can claim I'm watching for the skimpy outfits on the ladies.

the Star Wars prequels. I really enjoy them. But, I qualify this with this: Jar Jar is the WORST. CHARACTER. EVER.

And I would love to switch my wife with Alyson, but that makes me a jerk AND a cradle robber, so I will relegate that back to fantasy to never be fulfilled.(Ok, bad play on words. Switch wife, Switched at Birth - get it?)

I'll admit to watching DAWSON'S CREEK when I was a kid. I will say though that I am embarrassed to say that. I think that if BUFFY was on Global instead of that show, I would have had a better childhood. I think the main reason I was into it was that the main character was a film geek like me. But I do agree that Michelle Williams is a great actress. She really should have won her Oscar for BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. She was just amazing in it. She'll have more longevity as an actress than Katie Holmes I feel.

But one thing I don't apologize for is the STAR WARS prequels. I honestly believe that they're as good as the originals.

In terms of movies, the only DVD in my collection that I would consider to be a guilty pleasure is THE GIRL NEXT DOOR. I love Elisha Cuthbert, and I think the movie is a better than average teen flick, even though it was actually on Eberts Worst of list for the year.

I dunno. I think I have more guilty pleasure tv shows than movies. Like I actually watch DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES on a regular basis for three reasons. 1) It has some pretty good black comedy moments at times. 2) Bree reminds me a lot of my mom. 3) Just for the number of actors from famous genre shows all in one place. There's something awesome about seeing Lois Lane, Malcolm Reynolds and Dale Cooper on occasion sharing a scene. I keep waiting for a small reference to their most famous roles to pop up.

-- American Idol
-- Grey's Anatomy (and the spin-off, Private Practice)
-- I don't feel bad about watching Survivor, but some people think it's nuts.

Movies
-- Romantic comedies - trite, unsurprising, poorly written or acted, I will still watch them. Don't ask me why, because I don't know.
-- Armageddon - damn if that song at the end doesn't get me every time
-- The Fifth Element

Others- I actually like the Star Wars prequels, they're good enough to watch again, but they don't really make sense if you watch them with the originals.

And, comedies. Things like Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Tommy Boy, Sergeant Bilko, Down Periscope, Men In Black 1&2, Airplane, Top Secret... I just love all those movies

I admit to having watched all 3 incarnations of Cruel Intentions. I guess, for the same reason peeps watch Baywatch. :)

Oh, yeah, here's a real zinger for ya! I also like a movie most folks would consider childish:

Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century

It don't compare nuttin' to Firefly, of course, but it does take place on a space-station, and does have something cosy and familial about it. :)

I don’t watch Dancing With The Stars. People are always asking me about that though. I guess because when people find out that I’m so big into ballroom that they think I must like this show, but the truth is I’ve never watched it; I wouldn’t know even where to begin watching it; and aside from people asking me if I’ve watched it, I’ve never even heard of it.

Guilty pleasures? I don’t really have guilty pleasures. There are certain things that I like that other people find strange, but I like what I like. A lot of people at work, think it’s pretty strange that I watched Buffy and Firefly, so it’s kind of in the eye of the beholder.

I like a lot children shows and Disney movies and I get a lot of strange looks from that. A lot of the shows that I watch on TV are shows like Hannah Montana and ICarly, and SpongeBob. They’re silly shows, but they’re kind of cute. One of my absolute favorite movies is The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and for some reason I seem to get a lot of chaffing about that from certain people, but I’m not going to apologize for it, so step off! I thought Spy Kids (the first one) was really cute and kind of interesting. And I really liked Harriet the Spy and Zenon:Girl of the 21st Century. I liked Aladdin too.

I used to watch the Lizzie McGuire show a lot, but I’m glad we grew out of that one, because it was dumb.

And you know that cartoon with the frog that sings the old ragtime tunes when no one’s looking? Yeah, that’s awesome. His name is Michigan J. Frog. He's my desktop at work and I have a big stuffed M.J. Frog on my bed. Is that too weird for you? Well, tough.
