It's literally a blink and you'll miss it cameo. He shows up after the contest with the Sasha Baron Cohen is over and he's just some guys that asks Mrs. Lovett about Sweeny. Apparently, he was supposed to be part of a musical number involving the ghosts of the men Sweeny's killed, but Burton decided to cut it because it was too theatrical.

I've never seen the original stage production. The closest I've come to seeing it was in JERSEY GIRL, where Ollie and Gertie do the "God, That's Good!" number at the end of the movie. But my brother and I saw it last night and we both loved it. If Burton made huge changes and cuts, I can understand why he made them since this feels like an actual movie musical instead of a staged musical filmed from the audience. I can understand why Joss and Kevin Smith are fans of Sondheim. I'm going to memorize the entire soundtrack over the holidays.

I loved the staged musical.
