LOST Writer Takes a Stab at BUFFY

Faith is back! A few years ago, Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon tapped veteran comic book writer Brian K. Vaughan (Runaways) to write a direct-to-DVD movie featuring the former rogue slayer played by Eliza Dushku. After that fell through, Whedon asked Vaughan, now a coproducer on LOST, to revive his idea for a four-issue comic book series Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8. (His first issue, No. 6, goes on sale 9/5). "I've always felt that Buffy would translate really well to the comic-book medium," says Vaughan, whose story imagines "that some of the girls around the world who now have Slayer powers aren't necessarily good. So when it comes to who will slay as Slayer, Giles turns to Faith. She's the person to go for, as she says, 'dirty deeds, done cheap.'"
Another LOST producer, Drew Goddard, who wrote for the Buffy TV series, will pen issues 12-15. "When wer're not talking about Lost, we get to talk about Buffy," says Vaughan. "It's a dream job."

I can't wait 'til next week! And it probably won't come until Friday, so I'll have two extra days to suffer through...

Has anyone else seen the cover for #9 yet? I want that artwork on a poster for my wall...
