Auraptor- i think thats a misunderstanding being perpetuated by the media- those were Giulianis words. Ron Paul in no way said that the terrorists were somehow justified.. although the media would love to paint that portrait of him. Congressman Pauls point was that our foreign policies constantly incite "blow back" from the muslim world, which is then in -urn responsible for terrorism. the other candidates are outright foolish to not have considered this fundemental truth, that there are consequences for our actions outside of our country
i hear a lot of fearmongering from the pro-war proponants, in essence saying that radical muslim fascists hate America 'for our wealth and freedom'.. that they somehow expect to enact some kind of global caliphate. now ill grant you that its probably true.. but to a relatively small extent, probably a minority fringe in the M.E... but regardless a simple envy or culture shock alone doesnt drive people to commit mass suicide or "jihad". they must legitimately feel threated by us somehow, and no one can say with a straight face that we have never lost the moral high ground before
more then likely, as congressman Paul suggests, our foreign policy, our very being in the region and affecting political change, like in Iran in the 1950's, generates dissent and negative sentiment towards us. notice how all these alleged conservatives object to strictly following the constitution, which if they had we never would have been involved in ME affairs to begin with!.. and theoretically the threat of terrorism we now face would be even less jeapoardizing statistically then it already is. but with guys like Guiliani or Romney, and the other pro-war line toters, they literally want to police the world.. and those are not constitutional views

Nah... you're just buying into the demagoguery they're whipping up. Ron Paul's the only one of the bunch who isn't afraid to acknowledge that our foreign policy in the middle east has been a disaster. He's not doing that because he 'hates America' or whatever shrill crap they'll try to sell you. He's doing it because he wants to change things for the better. You can never do that if you aren't willing to admit mistakes and work to correct them.
And all he gets from his so-called fellow conservatives for the favor, is the usual sophistry and slander. I find it unbelievable that American citizens have become so insecure that they're falling this junk.

i agree.. the one thing i noticed repeatedly among the other candidates is there underlying fear of a potential threat, the "war on terror", a failed Iraqi state, a possible war with Iran, the destruction of the west.. and legitimate or distorted, this fear is compromising the morality of a lot of their decisions.
McCain, whos actually been tortured, ought to know the psychology of the process, and he came out against it, saying that it was not effective and does us more harm politically than good(in his own words). what hurts me is that many of the purported christians among the republicans were FOR torture, with Romney even saying he wanted to make GITMO bigger, while Giuliani wants a national ID card and more Bush police state measures; Tancredo even said that we'd always have bases in the region! if thats true, its time we consider the constitutional view mr Paul defends, which is that our very presence in the region, and subsequent flawed foreign policy, has itself created this catch 22.
but aside from the war issue, Paul wants to get rid of the IRS and Federal Reserve, wants to secure our boarders and promote our national sovereignty, and among other things vowed never to abuse habeas corpus. no other candidate can compare.. and the congressmans response among the mainstream media truly exposes the alleged unbiased commentators and conservatives for what they really are

USA/UK genocided over 2.5-million Iraqis during the non-stop bombings and starvation for 15 years, but that would never anger the victims' families? I agree that the genocide of 2.5-million Iraqis or other Arabs-Semites and Christians in the Middle East had nothing to do with 9/11, since it was an inside job.
Operations Northwoods and Gladio of confessed US Govt programs, where USA/UK/NATO bombed themselves to blame Arabs, Commies, Nazis, Irish, etc. Ron Paul should have mentioned those black ops, which would've been a hell of a show.

i agree, and i know to a fair degree Ron Paul does aswell, since hes on Alex Jones' radio show pretty frequently, and has a large 9/11 truth base; but i think at this point, because hes supposedly a 'second tier'(by media standards) candidate, he has to pull his punches somewhat, and take a more moderate stance until he has full access to the facts. but atleast its clear that hes open and willing to investigate the truth, and the fact that hes suggesting abolishing the DOE, DHS, IRS, NAFTA and the Fed and secure our borders.. those domestic issues alone are worth considering. why has american policy become foreign policy? that was the substance of the majority of the debate besides taxes, and only Huckabee suggested abolishing the IRS(though hes prowar). the point being that we need to restrain ourselves in order to win over the supporters of the entrenched establishment neocons and liberals who are running the show. *but i agree, state sponsored terror and false flag operations are documented, and would do our cause justice to atleast bring to light something like NORTHWOODS to the mainstream(in order to re-open the 9/11 debate).. but congressman Paul really has to be cautious, since the media is clearly out to smear and marginalize his message

Yes, Paul and Tancredo are pulling punches, on purpose, but are still landing enough whoppers to TKO the gangsta candidates. Everybody already knows the Truth about 9/11 - it's a rotting stinking dead elephant on TV 24/7, but few have the guts to talk about it in public.
However, this is the ONLY issue that can steal votes from the GOPsters in the elections, and the only way to successfully impeach Bush & Cheney, by convincing Republicans in Congress to abandon ship to save themselves and the nation. My uncle is a hardcore Goldwater Republican mayor of the richest town in Arizona, but when I told him who perped 9/11, he quit voting for Bush in 2004.
Paul publicly favors "a new 9/11 investigation". As a pissed-off Vietnam veteran, he probably has the guts to order the arrest of the Bush Gang, since that's the only way to save USA. Thanks to his JFK politics of banning the Fed Reserve Bank, killing the IRS, ordering the CIA & Pentagon to stay home and defend USA, Paul won both debates with over 80% of the vote!
But remember, PAX TV ran a special about JFK Jr being assainated by either Mafia Ghouliani and Hillary, who were running for senator from NY, when JFK Jr was about to announce his candidacy, with a guaranteed victory against Jr Bush for president in 2004. Eyewitnesses on PAX reported seeing his plane explode in midair on final approach... When I personally asked Professor RFK Jr is this was true, his exact quote to me was "Bullshit!" (Cool). But when I handed him a free copy of the videos Dark Secrets At Bohemian Grove, and 9/11 The Road To Tyranny, he couldn't look me in the eye, and he accepted my free gift.

Now the Michigan chapter of the Republican party wants to kick Ron Paul out of the debates altogether, despite the fact that he won both debates, crushed his nearest rivals in the polls and is clearly the frontrunner for the candidacy.
This is akin to an analogy where the Mafia owns nine of the ten horses in a race. The only horse that isn't owned by them is the frontrunner and is a full length ahead. Now the mob boss simply wants to rig the race by shooting that horse dead in broad daylight.
