Use Libraries

Hello. My mother is the director of our County library. From time to time, literally once every few years I make a suggestion to her on ideas of items that might be of interest to the general public. A few moths ago I told her to get the Firefly DVD set (and the BSG) because I felt they were excellent shows. Lo and behold, she did it, and now you can rent/borrow the 4 disc set. (They have a very small DVD collection, perhaps a 200 movies)

My suggestion is obvious, the next time you are in your public library, and if they offer DVDs for rent/borrow, ask them politely to get the Firefly set. There are a hell of a lot of libraries in the U.S.

Donations to libraries are good too.

I know folks, myself included, who are gonna buy the SE Serenity DVD for their local library as well as for themselves.

I personally think that Uni will watch the sales of the SE DVD. I'm not sayin' that it will translate into a reason for them to give us a sequel, but it sure can't hurt. Almost everybody I know who has gotten hooked on Firefly as part of my recruitment efforts has a birthday.
Lots of new opportunities to share the SE of the 'Verse.

Don't forget college and high school libraries too.
Might even want to check the county libraries close to you.

Don't feel sheepish. It is a great idea. And you succeeded in getting Firefly into a Library! Whoo-hoo! And in a small collection...it even matters more because people are looking for something they haven't checked out before.

People need reminding and others have never thought of the idea at all. There are plenty of libraries all over the world that need Firefly and Serenity and Serenity SE. Or even second sets etc.
