Wow you certainly are getting a lot of mileage out of the finger emote LOL
Hey I loved season 6 and thought the end was great, but we hardly need to resort to violence. Just smile and say " good to know" when someone disagrees. Then you've acknowledged them and not agreed or disagreed just moved past since their opinion is of no consequence to you and the reverse is true for them
Relax Chris honey passion is good, but you're gonna have a stroke if you keep this up:)

I am an unabashed lover of Angel season five (next to season two, it's my favorite), so I won't say season seven is better. But I will say that I think the reason Joss gave Buffy a more "up" ending is to balance out the ending of Angel (or the other way around, since Buffy came first). And I won't say season seven was the worst season
except that Buffy's S7 ending preceeded Angel's by a year, so at the time Buffy ended they didn't anticipate Angel needing to end at all...
Joss was hoping to continue to run Angel for several more years and was surprised it was cancelled so soon....
IMO Buffy would have always have an upbeat ending because she was earning her rest. Her's was a shiny happy victory.
Angel would have always expected to have to continue fighting, there were never going to be any victories for him because it was all predicated upon the evil he had done before and his continuing need for redemption....
So we had two very different endings for two very different heroes.
And of course I've failed to keep up the angry ranting tone that ChrisIsAll set... so we'll belatedly add:
and
I feel that the people who are still whining about the potentials need to rewatch Season 7, the fact is that even though there were a lot of them, very few of them got to speak... Our scoobie gang was still front and center. Andrew may have taken up more time on-screen, but personally I loved him and felt he had so much to offer, that I welcomed his contributions.
And people objected to the actors folding their arms too much? WTF?

so... er ... does that fit w/the whole theme of this thread?
(embers trying to fit in w/the cool kids)

Quote:Having just finished Buffy (again, fifth time-?) I see more humour, more dialogue, more comradary (sp-?), more of what makes Buffy Buffy, and I understand how some might miss that first time around (so much is happening), and maybe not remember it well for that- - uh, I mean...
Our scoobie gang was still front and center.

Buncha jerks!!!
I think most of the people were watching BtVS S7 through a filter of their own fan-crush/favorites:
the James Marsters fans weren't satisfied w/his screen time and the fact that Buffy didn't marry him
The Nick Brendon fans weren't satisfied with HIS screen time, and the fact that Buffy didn't ever date him
The Gay fans were totally freaked out that Tara died and didn't want Willow moving on (although I'll bet they'd have hated it more if Oz returned! At least Kennedy was also Gay)
everyone wanted THEIR ship to come in....
now (years later) they are over the resentments and ship wars, but they still haven't rewatched the season!
does that make sense to you?
oh and by the way
Chrisisall
I found the season 6 icon, not you!

Season 7 wasn't all bad. Dawn was getting friggin hot. I mean seriously her first day of school outfit? yummy.
Then there was the first potential to bite it. She was fine too. There in lies their first mistake. Killing the hot potential. Whoops shoulda killed the annoying brat kennedy. Then they tried to make up for it by not killing Xander. Again a mistake. Killing Xander would have upped the ante big time. Instead we get a weak eyepatch. Then they kill Anya at the last second. Who cares at that point? We weren't going to see her again anyway. Pssh. Pssh I say to season 7. I say they should have made Dawn a slayer and Willow evil and had them mud wrestle through season 8. Where's my contract and large sums of money Fox?

Em, I think you nailed it, because when I first watched 6 & 7, it was after my harsh disappointment with season 5- I felt that they destroyed the framework of Buffy by giving us SO much depressing stuff culminating in Buffy's death, that I didn't even want to go on.
Some months later, curiosity and a need for closure (and some fans here :)pushed me to see the end, and I approached it like: Okay, kill everyone, make me cry, whatever...I just wanna see it. No agenda, no expectations. Imagine my surprise when I found myself loving it again!!!
Angry [back on]
So
all who can't deal!!!!If looks could kill Chrisisall!
