Wouldn't MF have known what the lightning felt about you, and dating in general? Even if this friend didn't know whether she'd say yes or not, I still say that MF would have had an idea, and was either being stupid, ignorant, was messing with you (which is a slim possibility), or hasn't known lighting designer for very long. I don't know which one it is, because I've never met this friend, but those are the possibilities as I see them.

Oh, and I agree with RugBug. Plus, if you were perfectly content a couple of days before without telling lighting designer how you felt, then MF just helped make your life worse than before, if only for a few days.
