Sorry, this is gonna be a long one...
I believe we'll hit 3rd in a day (or two at most). But I'm suspecting that we're then gonna hit a snag.
We overtook the previous 3 competitors rather quickly, because the difference between our daily vote and their daily vote was always rather big. So excitement almost every week!
But tackling Bonanza and Xena is going to be a horse of a different colour.
I did a quick, rough and ready forecast, based on past performance, with an average of 800 votes a day, and at that speed, we're only likely to reach the 1st spot in September 2007. Just in time for Dragon con.(Second spot in approximately May)
I don't know how likely it is that we'll keep the attention of the average Browncoat for the next 9-10 months, with almost no excitement in between.
We need a new strategy. I think we really have to get organised. Nathan has 6000 "friends" Why can't we rope them in to each vote a few times? How do we reach them? I've mailed Nathan, asked him to blog, no avail. I'm sure he gets a lot of silly requests and can't answer them all. I've even commented on his myspace, for others to read. We need to get the other boards more actively involved.
Can we not contact some of the other BDH's to spread the word? How accesible ae they? Can we not ask Adam and Alan or Jewell to just mention the voting campaign once? There is a lot of action going on at whedonesque now witht the comedy of errors that was Flan. Any ideas on how to use that?

We have the shiniest fans in the 'verse! Who else could have a 'Non-Event' (aka: BE screwed, NotFLAN2, FLAN B, etc.) that had a larger turn out by the cast of the show than the original 'official' event was scheduled to?
We will hold.
Bonanza and Xena have to maintain their votes as well, or we will overtake them that much faster. This will be a war of attrition and endurance.
How crappy a planet would we be living on if Xena's fans would be more faithful than Firefly's?

I think this is the point, even come next september when we are above Xena we can not slow off the pace, I was asked yesterday when we would be so far ahead we could stop voting, the answer is "never" this is a labour of love and we vote each day to prove we are still here, there is no easy answer it all boils down to who has the most fan(atic)s, do you think Xena can mobilize a larger "everyday" vote than we can??

Wow, I just wanted to make sure these numbers didn't go by with notice. I can't believe about 10 months ago Bonanza was in fifthteenth.
