I am sure I could lick any of my blades and be fine, but I'm not sure the pictures would come out all that well.

Not quite Sting...the blade started out that way, but has been cut and ground into the shape you see there...not by me, though. I bought it because I liked the handle and did not even look at the blade until I got home. Got a bit of a surprise, too! 
It's not a good idea to lick blades....very bad for the steel.

I did lick it too (I wiped it off right away! I am not a moron!) But I think it looks dumb. Even the still of Jayne licking his knife looks a little strange. Maybe it only looks cool when you see it in action or something.
And JQ, I don't have to say anything! You know I don't say what isn't true just for the sake of saying it! I really do think he's too sweet to be evil. His evil is cute and makes me giggly.

Strange? Maybe. I was thinking "disturbing" as in "he seems to be enjoying it too much." And if you mean cool in an "Ice in his veins" kinda way, I'm with you.

Design looks a lot like the Choora used by Afghans and Pathans, or even possibly phillipino influenced.
Did the guy hammer in the riser on his own, or use the original centerline and curve it towards the top? Either way, that's some impressive detailing.

PR, there was meant to be a 
after that post on the licking of steel. I knew you knew that, just had to switch into 'proper' mode for a moment regarding the care and feeding of steel blades. So....
CMH, I am not entirely sure. I have not really paid much attention to the Sting blade shape, but I am thinking that it was just a matter of grinding off the bits they did not need and plonking a handle on it. It was not an expensive purchase...I think I paid $10.00 at a Ren Faire for it. Thought it would look good with the armor. I'll see if I have any more detailed shots of the knife, but I think that was the closest shot I had.

Nice blade Trist! I didn't think that was Sting, because of the handle, but it did look similar. Now I know.
I wiped off the blade after I licked it!! lol! I too am no moron, just slightly off. Well, I think I did so much laughing at how ridiculous I actual looked (PR, you are so right, looks just weird) that I barely touched it.
JonnyQ, No, no, no. Not "creepifying", just slightly frightening. Hmmm, wonder where I put that top...
Thanks for the well wishing. This damn cold is gonna drive me nuts. I hate being sick. I get grumpy and all no fun.
Is it bad when sea shells start saying strange things...
