I thought I would start a thread where we do not respond to each other, rather post questions that we can mull over. If something rubs you or you think deserves it's own thread start it elsewhere. I think this could be fun. Add a question.

I find it strange that amongst western civilized countries we have the most domestic violence(murders, assaults, etc.) Yet, we rarely have civil unrest and riots on any large scale that other countries SEEM to have frequently. Is it because we have the freedom to be so diverse socially, religiously, and politically?

I wonder why we have some of the best, most advanced medical care in the world, and brag about this fact when most people can't afford health insurance. Why brag about something that is supposed to be for the good of all, but people can't afford to use?

I wonder why MANY, but certainly not most people can't afford health insurance, including many people in the middle class, and why many, but certainly NOT MOST, Doctors (and hospitals, nursing agencies, the folk with the sleepy gas, the 'wound care specialists', etc) can't afford malpractice insurance? Seems to me that all folk on both sides of the issue have a common problem...insurance.

Why has it taken 26 years to get a Donner edit of Superman II when fans like myself have been ready to fork out coin all along?
Oh, and does God watch the movies we make? If he/she's all-knowing, then God must know the movies produced as well as the grains of sand...do you think he/she has a favourite?

Why do your fingers go all wrinkly when you've been in the water too long?

Why doesn’t my cat dissolve? It pukes up hair balls the size of my fist; it craps a dozen times a day and sheds hair continuously, yet never seems to lose mass. Why haven’t I come home from work to discover a trail of cat along the floor that leads nowhere?

Nihil est incertius vulgo, nihil obscurius voluntate hominum, nihil fallacius ratione tota comitiorum.

Nothing is more unpredictable than the mob, nothing more obscure than public opinion, nothing more deceptive than the whole political system.

Nope, it's because we have more toys. Why go out and riot when you can watch someone else do it on TV?

No one can see their reflection in running water. It is only in still water that we can see.

Why do people think that problems don't have solutions? Have they been taught that to make them more tractable?

Why do people feel the need to blame most all the world's problems on a particular individual, or a small cabal of individuals, who are acting to further some sinister and as yet undisclosed agenda?

Oh, and how can the Saints be 3-0?
