Fanfic Help

I just got thwapped by the idea for a Big Damn Fanfic, but since I just recently donned my coat of brown there are a few questions that need answering ere I set fingers to keyboard.

- Is there any source that gives us the distance /travel time between Earth and the Alliance solar system?

- Has the Alliance colonised only one solar system, or are there others?

- Is there any written incarnation explaining how the crew first met Mr. Universe?

Other questions as I think of 'em - this fic is still in planning stages, so I'll most likely be back with more eventually.

Hi. Can only help with one question. According to the book of the BDM (which you should buy!), Wash was at flight school with Mr. Universe. Wash finished 2nd in the class behind Mr. Universe, who couldn't fly to save his life, but had a knack for altering grades by hacking the computer system...
