Seryn: Okay if you get it. Then see if you can get them to understand.

The recitation of past abuse is really bumming me out. One of the worlds great injustices is that children grow up to do such terrible things. I ask only one thing of the mothers of young children: One less serial killer in the world, that's all I ask. It may not be the same thing, but you understand. Sometimes I close my eyes and ask, "how did our world come to this?"

In regards to the concept that the only time you can easily find some one is when you are all ready with someone. It is really frustrating. It often seems that there are women out there who won't give you the time of day if you are single and then they just want to steal you away once you are taken.

In the spirit of full disclosure I shold declare that I am living with someone. I hope this does not come as dissappointment to some of you. Oh the Irony...

And what? Do you recall me mentioning on the first floor how frustrating it is when women expect men to read their minds? What are you talking about?

Scorpion: I really do like the 'grace' thing, I'm just feeling compelled to make fun of it as applied to me. I hope I haven't offended you!

Especially now that I know you live with someone, she might come and beat me up!

Ask Dr. Science ... he knows more than you do.

"I have a Master's degree ... in science!"

you really want me to try?

oooooh the brain ache.

Simplest way I can say it, I think he means a thread to go to if you want to talk about any of the topics on any of the floor threads, so the lift can effectively whoosh you past the discussions that you aint taking part in - like the relationships one we have here - to something that may tie in with a topic on foor one that needs expanding.

in the most complex, threads as virtual environments, with pathways and indeed, lifts, then sorry you ain't getting it from me, if you want your head wrecked, listen to joss's commentary on 'objects in space'

I suppose I ought to say something on the subject of past 'relationships' but mine are a series of non starters - I know whatI want, and I always seem to start a new venture with a feeling of 'this isn't it'.

I've had one bad relationship, not abusive, I was never in a position where I thought I had 'earned' bad things - I never even felt weaker than him - he simply wanted to take advantage and I was In a bad enough head-place to just let him.

So basically I stopped, I've dealt, I know what I want, I know what I'm worth and when someone turns up who warrants my efforts then i'll give it a go.

In the meantime, almost three years of total celibacy and the only time i've ever missed a boyfriend is when i'm trying to get skin cream to that tiny little patch of skin on my back,

the bit between the shoulder blades,

stupid little skin bit...

as for the less attractive when single thing there was an austen character said something like 'an attatched woman is more attractive, she is content with her situation and can devote all her powers to pleasing' he was a total cad, but maybe there was something in it

I feel so misled! I have to go launch myself from a cliff!! Or not.

Okay so I have another strange question then. I have several friends who have been living with someone for like 1-4 years. They aren't overwhelmingly happy or anything, just together cos it's easier than being alone, and they feel safe and comfortable blah blah blah. As a person who is living with someone do you ever wonder if 'the one' has passed you by cos you were otherwise occupied. I am not trying to imply that you are unhappily with someone. Cos I'm sure she must not suck, but I'm always curious of this. (See floor 1 for the rest of my views on cohabitation).

Whaaa!! no ScorpionRegent! Oh well, there are plenty of others to stalk on this thread... Not that I stalk...

ROFL!!!!

Did you mean to throw a Hitchhiker's reference in there? Dingo and kidney are two Hitchhiker swear words. Along with Belgium, which is the worst swear word in the universe, of course.

And I like that a group of women is called a grace. It's better than being called a hencoop (Music Man anyone?) or a gaggle.

Yay, hooray internet lingo...it's easy to forget some people don't know some of the basics. I'm 23 and already I've been on the internet for 11 or 12 years, so most of it is second nature to me. There was even a period of my life where I could type in 1337 5p34|< faster than I could type normal things. I'm pretty good about refraining from a lot of the more obscure community dialects...of course unless I'm around that community, in which case i can have entire conversations with nothing but acronyms and weird symbols and the like.

And SR, I'm devastated! I was pining after you! haha, ok i'm kidding and i'm weird. fun
