Cool, I think I have that podcast downloaded already. I'm working my way through The Signal's podcasts right now, but am only up to #3. I've been all morning downloading stuff and ripping music CDs into my shiny-new iPod Nano (in black, of course). Yay for toys!

My pop-up virus(as i like to call it) can't be detected by the newest versions of adaware, spybot, and norton. do you have any clues to what it might be, or what can help me find it? I'm checked the processes (and double checked through someone else who knows a lil more then me) and deleted suspesious programs...and i'm outta ideas to find this thing...
if you read it , thanks, if not I definately understand.

n0, do you mean you have ad pop-ups showing up at odd times, like even when you're not browsing web pages?

did you see Persuasion? the sony classics version? because this is a movie i would compare to it. in the sense that the director went for a gritty side.
EXCELLENT screenplay. it was truly superb. like bbc quality . . .
shakespeare: more words than God.
Thanks for the roses. When I can't remember how to spell, I google. I heard excerpts from the Ntnl. spelling bee on the radio this summer. I laughed so hard. Those kids can spell!
I was wrong. The Persuasion I like must be the Sony Classics version, because my 15# movie book only lists 2, and the other version (from 1971, didn't like it at all) says it's BBC. Gritty, yes. Gorgeous soundtrack that was mostly Chopin? I thought that adaptation was breathtaking.
I'm glad to hear you say that about P&P. I was seriously considering not seeing it after catching the preview. The sex joke was in the preview, and I thought oh no, that's not working for me. The last thing I want to see is Austen post-modernified. Shakespeare: bring it on, Austen: no sex jokes, no modern hairdos thanks.
So which are your favorite Shakespeare movies, Ms 'more words than God'? There are a whole pile of good ones out there, and as I recall you requested a discussion of the Bill last week. Or, this could be a thread, there would be interest.
Thanks to viral marketing...SERENITY: reopening soon in a theater near you.

my name was mentioned quickly when they were talking about the FFF.net thread chrisisall started about Reavers. Just a big surprise for me to hear my name (that is screenname) read out.
I'm ussually more incognito.
NoSkillz:
The pop up could be anything, is it pop up adds? That ussually means a Trojan of some kind.
Have you got a Firewall running?
Try checking you services, you can get to them through the control panel->Administrative Tools->Services.
Also try killing all processes running in task manager started by your username, except explorer.exe and taskmgr.exe.

Also, this nifty little utility might be useful if your Messenger service is still enabled by default:

Know what's kinda happy/sad? Listening to a CD of a live Harry Chapin concert. He was so joyful and expressive and full of life, and had so much still to say. Life ain't fair.

Thats exciting, i wish my name was said on a podcast!
And ya, its popup ads. i figured it was a trojan.
and once you meantioned firewall, i stared at zonealarm until the next popup... and then i released "Windows NT Logon Application" did something everytime it popped up, but never when i regular surfed. so i disabled it from accessing the internet, and BAM, they stopped. now just to figure out if its suppose to be there and a trojan is using it, or if its the trojan...

This mentions something about if Window XP is installed, the best way to block the messenger service thing would be to install the Service Pack 2. Where is this? And will installing it keep me from using msn messenger?
