Well, I am running with the 7:45 showing. I would still like to get folks together sooner at the theater if they were so inclined. As it stands, we could be there at least an hour before hand. Possibly earlier if there is something going on for sure. Everybody feel free to jump in here to let us know what works. 3 Days!!!

I know that I'm going against the group with this, but my posse of 10 friends are going to be attending the 10:30 show at the Century (in West Des Moines). We'll be dining at PF Chang's around 8, for some on-theme Amerasian cuisine, and then heading over the theater. Some of my friends couldn't make the 7:45, so we opted for that later. I don't expect anyone else to change plans, but if there are lurkers out there looking for Browncoat company at the late show, here's saying that you will not be alone. :)

Oh, and I've offered extra credit to my students to see it and write a response to certain literary qualities it may or may not have. If I link it directly to class topics, is it still immoral? I may be going to the Special Hell for this one, but if it helps get us a sequel, I'm ready for the firey gates!

LOL! I suppose if Dolores Umbridge is your school's Vice Principal, you might have things rough in this life, but I tend to think most folk are headed for Purgatory. I reckon as how good teachers, competent parents, and tech support people all start out there with massive time off for having spent their lives fighin' the good fight.

More seriously, you're sharing something healthy which you love, with impressionable adolescents. That's what good teachers are supposed to do! Keep flyin'!

Friday's 1st matinee in Cedar Rapids:
Anyone interested in going to the 1:30pm showing at the Carmike Wynnsong 12 on Edgewood Rd?

Possibly we could meet earlier for a leisurely lunch shindig. There's plenty of affordable places nearby, including a nice Chinese food restaurant.

Here's Friday's showtimes:

bump

We're meeting up for pizza before going to see 'Serenity' at the Carmike Wynnsong (1:30 pm matinee)
anyone else coming?

I hear that 'Serenity' is in fewer than 900 theaters, so we do need to make these count.

Of course I'll confess that I'm NOT just going to make the box office better...
I'm going because I LOVE the BDM and I'm excited to meet up with some fellow Browncoats.

Count me in.

There were a few anxious hours earlier this week when we thought the Carmike's had dropped Serenity, but our movie is too pretty to die! She still needs some help, so don't be shy about joining us all.

It's ok to turn up a little later, if you're anxious about spending so much time with real-world strangers.

Sadly, that Pizza Hut doesn't have a buffet on Saturdays, so we won't be able to question the buffet table.

Eerily enough, on Iowa Public TV's "Market to Market" tonight, they had a short segment that touched on strawberry cultivation. I'm viewing that as a sign. Besides, we all know Joss is fond of "cornfed Iowa farmboys".
