Zoot, this is my favourite season so far, I'm halfway through it, and am almost sad to be so close to the end! But sadder still that the fifth won't be as good. I almost want to stop with season 4 and just let it stay in my memory like it is now.
And yeah, torturous relationships suck, I had a couple myself early on and decided that no matter how intense they can be, that they're just another drug that wears off and leaves you in pain- which is NOT cool or 'meaningfull', just bad.
So give me Max and Logan, Lois and Clark, and Buffy and Riley. They're cool.

I respectfully state that the Buffy/Angel angst thing was what kept me from liking S2 and even S3 as much as I might have. Problem relationship? Boo hoo, go find someone you CAN be with! Like Riley!!!

Is that the scene that alternates between the fight and the lurve-making? If so, than I agree completely!
And Chrisisall, don't worry - season 5 is pretty damn great too. "The Body" in S5 is one of the most powerful pieces of television EVER.

No, but I did see Hush, Joss' greatest directing up to that point! And Doomed was good, too.

Riley get turned to a vamp, or simply be shunned by Buffy, or however they get rid of him, I'm truly tired of angst. And seeing Buffy die is not high on my list, either, since I have no plans at this point to purchase 6 or 7.
But that ain't to say I won't get 5, just that I'm a little leery...

I did not like Riley but then--Angel was sorta a tough act to follow. Actually I did like Riley in 'Hush' --when he wasn't talking. I thought a military-type would be good for Buffy. But he was such a dork! I guess, like Buffy, I like a little monster in my men! (And a long dark coat of some kind!)
