I just ordered these really cute sushi postcards to send out to people signed up for the Browncoat Post and now amazon is telling me I won't recieve then until Aug 16-30!!!! How crappy is that??? I was all excited about writing fun things on them and sending them out to everyone and now I have to wait a few weeks! I am soooo sad... :crap: Oh crap..why's it always me? XOXOXO Capture

On the bright side of things, I finished my very last final for the spring/summer semester today...I get a whole two weeks off before getting back to that pile of books I shoved under my bed (if you can't see them, their not there). I am pretty sure I had another stright A semester and last I checked my overall GPA was up to 3.9 killer! I also just found out that I got two really huge scholarships, one of them pays for all of my tution and books for two semesters and the other one is more cash on top of that to help out with expenses and what not...so that was really good news :smile: OK, I'm done now...time to start my vacation...where's my PSP controller??? Well, I'm fully immersing myself in this environment, so I figured I'd write a short, one o'clock flavored entry to kick things off. So frustrating - I have so many fics in my head, and not enough time to get them typed and posted. At least I have the rest of Cold Comfort Mountain drafted out now. I'm hoping that Tyler will be an interesting factor in this little caper. Watching Jayne having to be a responsible authority figure should be good for a laugh or two. And watching Mal realise that Tyler thinks that his little pilot is a sweetheart should be a riot. 'Cos Mal is in charge and in control and it's his job to be protective, gorramit. *Yeahright*:biggrin: I also have some crackfic in the works. My original short crossover for the challenge mutated, and will now be a longer fic. I want to go back to some plot bunnies I started in 'Zen' as well. And there is something very cracktastic that came out of late night insomnia, coffee and cough medicine. Then there is the feeglefic. And I have some ideas about Jayne on Londinium... Bloody hell. I'm writing a second season all by myself here. My head is getting crowded. And I'll be getting the Firefly OVC soon - who knows what goodies I'll pick out of that... Mind you, perhaps folks will get fed up reading them, and I'll have to store them away with the huge heap of Potterfic I never got round to posting. 60,000+ words at last count.

Okay, so, really, it just never goes smooth. But this is why we playtest right? BWAH! The Vampire Slayer is gonna take longer than expected to produce. Mostly because the playtest showed some GAPING BLACK HOLES in the mechanics. For example, Vampires had the ability to embrace others with a ROCKET LAUNCHER...so that has to be fixed, despite the humour value. That was just one of the few dozen things that made characters too uberpowerful. Also, Fruity Oaty Bar the game...still trying to find ways to get the game down to a 20-30 minute format instead of 4 hours...*sigh*. It's fun, but loooooooong. I want it to be quicker, so still working on that. In better news, I have tons more stuff at my Space Bazaar

Well, I have been done with training for almost a week now, but still have not posted any stories. I have some sort of mental block, and I am trying to push my way through it. There's a decent amount of stuff going on in my personal life right now, not to mention a second job that keeps me away on the weekends. I will try to get chapter 4 of From Bad To Worse posted today or tomorrow. As I have stated before, I plan for it to be 10 chapters, and my goal is to get them done by the time of DragonCon, though that may be an impossible goal at this point. I have kinda stalled out on Sailing Beyond the Sunset. I know where the story is going, and I know how I want to get there, but the words and the little details just aren't coming to me. Anyone have a muse I can borrow for a bit? In other news, I am really really really looking forward to DragonCon. I get paid this week from the fed job, which will pay bills and provide groceries and gas, and I am working 5 shifts at the restaurant, so that cash will go towards my hotel room and food/booze/smokes for the weekend. I can't wait to meet the 3 BDHs and the countless members of this site who will be there. I am looking forward to all of the hugs and late night drinking and backrubs and whatever else so much that it makes the next 22 days seem like an eternity stretching out in front of me. This next part is not intended to hurt anyone's feelings, or to negatively criticize anyone's work in particular, or anything else that could be construed as negative or hateful, they are just my personal opinions. I just have a few pet peeves that I want to get out regarding fanfics. ~Using the word sex to describe parts of the female anatomy (ie: he parted the slick folds of her sex) completely turns me off to a scene, possibly the entire fic. There are plenty of synonyms for it. ~Children in fanfic are a touchy subject. To give them a voice, the timeline has to be advanced far beyond the BDM, and even then, writing kids' voices is still tricky. Personally, I prefer our BDHs not to have gotten to a point where they have the possibility of having kids EDIT: ALL CHILDREN HAVE BLUE EYES WHEN THEY ARE BORN. ~I don't think Simon and Kaylee fuck nearly as much as some writers portray them to. Maybe it's just that I have never experienced, either in my personal relationships or in those of my friends, have I seen a couple go from silent yearning to sex 3-5 times a day. Maybe I'm just sheltered though. ~In my opinion, River was not a Reader until she went to the academy. In Objects in Space, the discussion they have is plainly about that subject, how they changed how she reacts to things, and Mal asking Simon right off if it was possible. I have also seen a story or two wherein River has powers akin to Phoenix (from Marvel comics) and I am sure that does not jive with Joss' view of the 'verse 500 years from now. None of this means that I am going to change my reading habits. I like the writers that I read, and if they are guilty of the above then it is not as much of a big deal. For new writers I try, it could determine whether I continue reading their works at all. I really just wanted to be honest and get some things off of my mind. I hope I still have a few friends left after all of this. ~Jimi

I have to go out of town for business reasons. I should be posting again in the first week in September. If things go smoothly much sooner, but when has a job ever gone smoothly for a Brown Coat? I'm looking forward to posting the rest of this current storyline, it's been fun writng it. I've also been working on Jake 2.0 fanfiction. With about 240 pages writen in the rough. Before I forget, I am looking for a good beta. ( Firefly/Serenity and Jake 2.0) So if anybody's interested... Till later. Zucht
