I knew the day would come . . I just didn't think it'd be so soon . . I’m on my 3rd series of fanfic and I (personal opinion only) reckon they’ve got better and funnier as I’ve gone along (especially when I cringingly read the first one!) . . . But I wrote a nice first chapter, set up a great story line and sat back expectantly, waiting for something to happen, inspiration to strike etc. and now I’m totally stuck – I really have no idea what’s gonna happen next . . . . It's such a shock . . . I guess I just have to sit back and let it rest – let the sediment sink to the bottom etc and maybe in a few days I’ll see where its going . . or maybe not! Does this happen to everyone??? In the mean time I brought the DVDs of Sports Night – Aaron Sorkin’s first TV thing before West Wing – I’m watching it on my apple as I don’t have a region 1 DVD player and it never came out over here in Blighty! It’s surprisingly good! You can see where West Wing came from (including a lot of the actors), but you can also see the mistakes. . e.g. Aaron just can’t write full-on comedy as the stories are often pretty poignant and have those overblown West Wing speeches and the 30 minute format just doesn’t sit right and as for the canned laughter track – eurgh! But my main question is why the hell isn’t Josh Charles in more stuff – he’s pretty damn cute – last thing I remember seeing him in was as Knox Overstreet (?) in Dead Poets Society – that awful schmaltzy, teen, finding-yourself, coming-of-age film with Robin Williams (*sticks finger down throat*). As I recall he was the only reason to watch it . . . Is he in more stuff in the US? If not, why the hell not??

Yesterday, I recieved my copy of Finding Serenity in the mail (Finally!). I have enjoyed reading it to a point. Ms. Espenson seems to be a little concerned about the card game she claims to have invented. Apparently, Adam Baldwin stating that he made it up has gotten to her. Its already been mentioned that she invented it in the book three times. Frankly, I don't care who invented it. It was a nice touch, yes, but honestly, who cares? Also, the statement that the Reavers in the movie will not be quite the same as the Reavers from the show irked me to no end! What the hell! Clean slate! ugh! When I woke up this morning, my back hurt...a lot. This wouldn't bother me that much, but I have a lot to do today. One thing is mandatory Physical Training, and the other is that I volunteered to run the grill at a child care function today. My back does hurt from time to time, but, I got the hiccups too. And, when I get the hiccups, it hurts! And, it makes my back hurt more! So, picture, if you will, manwithpez, at the grill, hunched over and hiccuping, grimacing every time he has to move, flip a burger, or breathe. Why couldn't I just get hit by a car and have done with it? On the plus side, I've ordered my new TV and surroundsound system! I can't wait to see Serenity soaring over that train in Paradiso! And, as this will be the first time...I'll get to hear it in stereo! Go tax return!!!

Hey all, I know, been a while since I've wandered into the forums. Craziness at work and the Outpost Gallifrey forum has been taking some of my attention. But I have to run in and share the happy news: Yesterday, after finally getting home from work (had a drama performance to attend), my wife proceeds to tell me about her job interview with the superintendent of the Evergreen School District. He sounds like a bit of a goofball (meaning, I'd definitely like him), and when asked what the next steps of the hiring process were, he instructed Amber (wife) to open the door. Random, yes. But apparently the secretary was waiting out there with a contract offer for her!! What a treat! :biggrin: Out of 800 applicants and 20 available spots, she's being put in the pool of 5 teachers that "they totally cannot live without"! Needless to say, my wife totally rocks! And yay for the extra income next year! -Taylor
