How to tell you're a fan? You already have the American released Serenity on DVD... and the day it is released in Australia... You buy the Special Two Disc edition with the limited release Specially Designed Slip Cover with Joss Whedon's signature. As well as the Special Two Disk edition with the limited release Specially Designed Serenity Tin Case. And you don't have a job and haven't been paid in cashey money in months. *sigh* I need help, people.

Made the mistake of walking into Real World Event Discussions today (I kinda replied to a thread, without realizing where it was posted). Let's not do that again. People were so nasty and mean. Not to me, but to each other. I felt bitterly scarse love coming from that place. It was chilly. Not even sure why I feel the need to blog this. I guess, having been engulfed in so much warmth here, the last two weeks, "real life" biting my head off suddenly threw me a bit, I guess. Really weird, though. I'm a grown man; I should be able to handle a wee bit hostility; especially when it's not even levied at me. Odd that is. I saw "Out of Gas" again today. You know, Kaylee is a sweetie, what with the cake for Simon and all. Don't tell River. :) And I'll deny it if this ever leaves the room. Kaylee made me happy today. River made me sad today. And both in a good way. As for that real life thingy, I guess I realize it's not so much that I cannot handle harsh reality any more. It's just, I don't want to, any more. The Verse is a place for gentle souls. Or, at least, it ought to be.

Hey Fellow Browncoats, wanted to come say hi- I've been skulking around this site for a year or so, and thought it about time I carried some sort of ident card. So, Hey! I'm Nina, a singer/songwriter from South East England, and lover of all things Whedon. Notall things wee'd on, mind. The Joss. Have been spreading the good word of the Firefly 'Verse to all and sundry, through the medium of song (tried shadow puppets, but it just gets misinterpreted)- have taken to playing the theme tune at gigs!- and, well, I guess, buying people I love the box set. They in turn buy it for their folk, and oh, how the chain grows! Love it. I'm not terribly o-fay (boy, thats not how thats spelt) with chat rooms, blogs and the like, but I love the very real sense of community I get from this site, and just Browncoats in general. NUCLEARDAY

Can't get enough of these soundtracks! Both of them really, I listen to the Firefly one mainly, but there's a number of tracks on the Serenity score that really move me, too. (Specifically, the Serenity theme, and right after that track is Going for a Ride... kind of a rambling catchy tune. And the end credits get me all teary.) I've heard some bad reviews of the Serenity soundtrack from my fellow browncoats. Maybe it's just because with the exception of Bushwhacked, it was the movie that I saw first. It's alot more epic than the show of course, and it's not as specifically "Western", but some of those really do a great job of capturing the feel of the franchise. (Which is good I guess, considering that's what it's supposed to do. ;) Firefly soundtrack is just on a constant loop in my bedroom right now for the past like 3 or 4 hours. I know there's nothing I need to say about that one. We all know. Other than the main theme of course, my current fave tracks are Big Bar Fight (I love the hook with the slide guitar towards the end, from when they're riding off on Serenity in the Train Job... wish they'd worked that in a few mores times in the series.) And of course River's Dance. That still gets me all choked up when I hear it. I've stated this before, but I'm really not the sort to get all misty and blubbery at all. Firefly and Serenity both just have that effect on me, one of the main reasons I got hooked on it actually. I know I've read a good book if after I'm done I spend some time just sitting there. Same goes for this 'verse. Just listening to some of these songs though brings it all back again, though. Was driving around town this morning, and had the Serenity soundtrack on. We got to near the end of it where it gets all sad... I near about had to pull over for a time, get my head on straight ;p Anyways, needed a break. I'm trying to use Firefly as a bit of crutch, get me drawing again. Working on this one's taking forever, and I CAN'T get River to look quite right... (Luckily she's got a lot of hair to cover up the worst of it :)

CAPELLA

Yesterday and today I have been totally busy with building a website for my role-playing group in spe. I translated some of the rules to German, created a little forum where we can put the charcter descriptions, keep a flylog and so on. This is just so much fun. I love to create things like this. It is far from finished yet and it is in German and it pretty specifically aimed at this group, but if you want to take a look anyway, of course you are more than welcome to do so.
