The opportunity here for this 'new' network to continue something that's already got legs cannot be ignored. Even if they don't do anything about it, they cannot ignore it.

Firefly was cancelled, even before finishing an entire season. Fourteen episodes filmed, only eleven originally aired, and here it is four years later with a major motion picture out last year, now on DVD, and a fanbase that is only growing. Good shows fall through the cracks all the time.

The only thing is: Firefly kinda crawled right back out again. Even though there are those out there who dislike the show, and some very vehemently, this four month stint of a show has created quite a financial benefit for anyone there who wants it. They already know that virus marketing works well for this group of people.

We can probably safely assume that Mr. Whedon loves the show and would take very little if any convincing to do it, the actors would do it again in a heartbeat, and the fans would probably incite riots, rabble rouse and throw shindigs galore all over the place if a whisper of a rumor got out that this would happen.

I've watched the series and movie well over seven times and it still makes me laugh. Every time. No other show or movie has ever done that before.

Per-maybe-haps the CW network is the one to light Firefly's engines once more.
