I'm just sitting up late, listening to the night sounds. There are so many lovely sounds in the world. There's the sound of the wind. How it moans sadly around the building, how it makes the tree branches creak. The pleasant sigh of a soft breeze. Then there's less natural things, like the sound a pop can makes when you open it or the pop when you open a sealed glass jar. Or...Wait... There's a train passing in the distance. I've always loved that sound. The faint rumble of the tracks, felt as much as heard, the almost melancholy sound of the horn blowing that, nontheless, makes my smile and thing of big skies and summer nights. Mmmmmmmm. Night train passing. Then there is the sound of the season. Each has it's own. In a resent blog I talked about the smell of spring and the sound is similar. Of course there are the animal sounds that were missing in the winter; buzzing insects, chirping and croaking frogs, birds singing. But there's more to it. It's almost as if you can hear the earth waking up. The trees, the grass, the flowers. All starting to stir and to stretch. Bahh. It's late and I'm babbling. Listen to me. Wool gathering like a moon brain. Still. Right now, at this moment, I am content. And that is all I could ask.

My son got me the Firefly for Christmas and I cracked it open for the first time over the President's Day Weekendand at a local convention. I fell in love.

Anderson Returns to the Gate Submitted by: Kyle Nin (SoSF Reporter) Richard Dean Anderson (General Jack O'Neill) will make a return visit through the Stargate in season ten to mark and celebrate the show's unprecendented 200th episode. On the 200th, O'Neill and the SG-1 Team will be serving as consultants to a television series that has remarkable similarities to the real SGC. Now, I know that premise sounds familiar. We all remember when the DeLuise brothers did something like that a few years back, but executive producer Robert C. Cooper and co-creator Brad Wright say this one really is very different and the story goes in a whole other direction that no one will expect. And there is more good news. Anderson's return will not be limited to this one special appearance. The General is expected to be in several other episodes of both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis, both shows making their season premiere's this summer. One final bit of news concerning the 200th episode of Stargate SG-1 - the cast and crew have thrown in a nice little nod of recognition to Joss Whedon's Firefly/Serenity. Looks like I [I]won't[/I] be able to see Slither. The one theatre in Ass-End (a.k.a. Cornwall), Ontario isn't opening it this weekend (which, from experience, means they're not opening it ever). I can hardly request a ride to another town to see a movie that no one else around me wants to see (gimme a ride, drop me off for two hours, then pick me up again), so it looks like I'm gonna have to let the Captain down. Gorram ruttin' hell. I [I][B]HATE[/B][/I] this town! :finger:

It's phenomenal the amount of money Sci-Fi fans are willing to spend on their hobbies, esp. FireFly fans...guess we're nerds(?) Come on "Suits" - read the polls, please bring back FireFly, we'll finance ya! I've already arranged for a second loan on my dog (poor Fluffy). :) Anyone heard any updates/rumors regarding the recent meeting between Gina, Summer & Nathan? Thanks!
