I did get a totally rocking Wonder Woman t-shirt instead..Has anybody heard "Mal's Song" by Escape Key. the singer has a beautiful clear voice and the lyrics (using the theme song as the chorus) are wonderfully apt and evocative. Hey All This is my second birthday blog I've written for this site. Today, I turn 21. I am now officially old enough to do whatever I want. And so far, I've done this to cap off my summer. 1. Woke Up 2. Had two pancakes for breakfast 3. Said goodbye to Mom and Dad 4. Stopped in town to have quick visit with grandparents and visiting uncle. 5. Drove back to Regina. 6. Dropped stuff off at house, saw that the street construction going on has made progress. Will be smooth in about two weeks. 7. Went in for final weigh in at Herbal Magic. Comfortable with my body, so don't really care about weight. 8. Went for much needed haircut. 9. Went on birthday shopping spree. Bought hair gel, special editions of V FOR VENDETTA, NETWORK and MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO. Tried to find season 3 of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT all around the city, but only found it at Best Buy, where it was available only in a series pack. Already have seasons 1 and 2. Also bought new clothes for school and $50 iTunes Music Card. 10. After driving around, bought comics at comic shop. 11. Picked up my brother and went to see CARS at the Rainbow. 12. Dropped Matt off and drove out to Qu'Appelle Valley to favorite spot. 13. Laid out blanket, stripped to boxers and laid down on blacnket. Tried to read this book Dad gave me called THE POWER OF NOW. Had read first chapter already, so mind kinda wandered. 14. Decided what the hell and took boxers off. This so far has been the highlight of my day. I gotta tell ya, folks. Being naked out in the prairies with no one around is an exhilarating feeling. Even when I was looking out over the valley and the highway below, I felt no shame. Y'all should tey this. If the weather is nice, go out to an isolated spot in nature on your birthday and try out your birthday suit. It's a liberating experience, especially after a long suymmer where you've done nothing but work in the sun and drive. 15. Drove back, got some pizza, filled the car up with gas (which is now for the first time in a long time below a buck a liter) and washed the car. 16. Went home, bought three albums (Christina Aguilera's BACK TO BASICS, Bob Dylan's MODERN TIMES and Russel Peters' OUTSOURCED which is a comedy album) and some singles and videos off the iTunes Music Store. And I'm still not done. Right now, I'm gonna go see the Clio's at the RPL, and then meet up with a buddy at the bar at the college for drinks and pool. If he actually does show up (he has to be at a Riders game today), then it'll be a pretty good birthday. Also, I discovered that not only do I share a birthday with Keanu "Ted/Neo" Reeves, Salma "Serendipity" Hayek and Aimee "Wisely opted out of her family reality show" Osbourne, but also one of my favorite former LOST cast members Cynthia "Libby" Watros. I was so pissed that she was killed off. Not only one of my favorite characters, but now Hurley has lost all hope of getting laid on the island. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Peace Will update later.

Apparently I am cat and I don't care about anything...wow...I'm really not sure what to say about this one... What Animal Are You? RESULT: Cat A cat’s M.O. is simple: they just don’t care. Seriously, the house could be burning down, and a cat won’t get up till it’s finished licking its paws, and even then, it’s not really in a hurry to get anywhere. Being a cat, you’re cool and refined, and you’ve got plenty of that cat attitude. Okay, fine, we’ll say it – cattitude. Just be careful not to fall into any huge open vats of water. Cats don’t like that sort of thing.

I've been e-mailing Oprah about a great show idea. I'd like to see Joss Whedon on Oprah talking about the Browncoats and all of the charities that we support like Equality Now I think it would be a great way to reach others that are not in the Sci Fi loop. If you've got any ideas, send me a wave.

Hey all. Long time no... anything. :biggrin: I'm settling in at my new place, but job opportunities have been limited. As a result, I'm toying with the idea of opening my own portrait studio for commission work. A slightly terrifying prospect, but infinitely more palatable than retail drudge work. I'm old and set in my ways, and I don't take orders well. This way I can be my own boss and make a living doing something I actually like. Also, I finally got around to opening a Live Journal. Ok this is my first blog and really ive got no idea why im doing it but i feel i should fill all you important people in on my life. The main event in my life at present is the fact im going to university next week and i am very excited!! I am moving to another country (scotland) and doing biochemistry. Also due to my job i now hate old people. Is that enough??

Greetings, all. First off, let me say that the portion of DragonCon I attended was the most fun I've had in a long, long time. I finally met face-to-face with several Browncoats I have only known as typed words. It was wonderful! The parade was a evry shiny experience...marching along with the other Browncoats, singing (to the musical stylings of...I wish I could remember his name!) The Ballad of Serenity and Hero of Canton...much fun was had. Unfortunately, I had to leave early in order to deal with a family emergency...this is the message I gave to Serenity when I called her right before the Shindig. The family emergency, it turns out, was very close to home. The wife and I will be divorcing. This does not come as a real shock to me, as we have been limping along for more than six months now. I won't get into too many details, but she has decided that she needs to be alone or awhile, and I concur whole-heartedly. I hold her no ill feelings, and want her to be happy...this apparently means not being married to me. Along with making her happy, this will also make me happy, so all manner of things will be well. The bad thing about all of this is that it destroyed the rest of my DragonCon...I missed the Shindig, I missed the Browncoat costume contest, I missed the chance to meet the rest of the Browncoats at DragonCon. That pissed me off. I know there may be a time in the future when we can do this all over again (next year!!), but I was looking forward to a few more days of fun and happiness. If I was seemingly cold or rude to anyone I met this weekend, I apologize...not knowing what's really going on in your marriage will ocassionally make one act distant. I am happy to have met all of the people I did; again, I just wish I had met all of you. In a nutshell, I will be on and off the boards while this thing is sorted out. But, hey, in 30-some-odd days, I will join the ranks of the single Browncoats! I may have to ressurect one of those old dating threads! I did manage to get a few group shots of the Browncoats before the parade...I'll try to post those, along with my brief experience, in the close future. Thank you all for being here, and for sharing my love.

The inside of the Firefly is quiet and cold, dim lights everywhere. Like the twilight, it's light but still you can't see all that well. A low Humming of the engine can be heard through the hulls of the ship. A scream comes from the passengers quarters. A scream so loud that it wakes the entire crew. River is in the floor by the bunk hands to her head rocking back and forth talking to herself. "Not dead, it's all a dream. Has to be a dream. Their not dead." Simon comes running in her room. "Mei Mei, what happened? who's not dead?" River looks up at him with the look of saddness in her eye's as she says, "Wash and the preacher man. Their dead... In here." As she points to her head with her finger. Simon comforts her in his arms and says. "Their not dead. Wash is right there, see." as he points to her doorway where the others are at as Mal comes up pushing the others out of the way. "Jien tah-duh guay is going on here Doc? I can't sleep well at night when your ruttin sister is scaring the hell out of my crew. If Wash was dead we all be dead becuase he's the one flying this thing... Right Wash...? Wash?" Mal looks over to see Wash standing there with his head down. "Well, Mal, I was, uhm in my bunk with Zoe when River made me go alittle earlier than I plained to. Sorry Capt. I just want to know why I'm dead?" Jayne looks at him and says. "Well at least your not alone. Book is there with you." Wash looks at Jayne. "Gezz that makes it all better doesn it. Why can't Jayne be dead to. Oh, that's right he's the town hero." Jayne looks at Wash and says, "Like I said before, that was not my fault." Mal looks around at everyone and says, "Alrighty then, if you don't mind we have a job to do in a few hours, so if you could please control your sister so we can get some sleep, because some of use get alittle crotchety when we'er tired. Doma?" River looks around and grabs her head and starts to talk again. "Reavers, Alliance, Miranda." She turns her head quickly to Mal. "Reavers, They didn't lie down. They will come if they go." Mal looks at Simon. " What in the hell is she babbling about there doc?" simon looks at Mal, then to river. " I'm not sure Capt." Mal looks over at Zoe that is by Wash holding his hand. "This is a little more than we need to know right now." Zoe looks at Mal. "Do you think sir. She said that my husband was dead. That kind of concerns me sir." (So tell me what you think.)

Yes, that's right I purchased the Firefly Official Visual Companion (Volume 1) today at Borders. It is most amazing. Has grand pics and interviews and backstories and scripts. I am enthralled. I cannot wait til the second volume comes out in the spring. Just adding away to my Firefly collection. I also go the newest editions of Lord of the Rings. Much joy there as well. Be watching the extra features for a while now. My old roommate came back for a visit bringing with her, Angel. It's amazing. She is really the one who got me turned onto Joss with her obsession with Buffy. Then she left and I got into Firefly and she got Angel. So Angel is nice. She is now into Firefly. And we are all very happy. Happy with Jossness. However, Gina in season four of Angel really, really creaps me out a hecka lot. *shudder* I will now include a list of Firefly items I own, to be followed by a picture at some point.
