Hello fellow Browncoats! Many a thanks to those of you who have been reading my "Song of Serenity" series. I promised to have the next little installment out today, and though I did for a short while, I went back and deleted it. Quite simply, I didn't think it was good enough. I edited it, cut it off at one point and now have reposted it fully finished. And so, I implore all of you who are reading the series to read the next one and post a comment! I have already written a rough draft of Song of Serenity Part 4, and will have that out as soon as I can! Please tell me what you'd like to see in the next one! And again, I apologize for the confusion! You can't take the sky from me!

So I recently fell in love with this show and stumbled onto this site in the process. It’s amazing how a cancelled TV series has such a fan base- and never got a second chance! Granted there was a feature film, but like all of you here, I WANT MORE!!! As a filmmaker myself, I can only imagine how much pain Whedon must have gone through after finishing this show. I just finished my first film and actually finishing it is both a joy and a feeling of sadness. I’m never going back to those characters again. I’ll never work with that crew in that environment again. Unless of course we (my cast and I) ever should decide to revisit the world we created. Having watched Firefly and its feature film a few times now, I have such a longing for more adventures with Mal and his crew! The episode that hit me the most was “Out of Gas”. It’s very well written, acted, directed and really shows how great this show is and could have been if only people like myself caught onto it earlier. Deep in my heart, I know there’s more to come. I’ll be waiting… -Phil

Just a question before I start: Is it odd to do a daily log? Now,on to the log. Many people, even within this site, comment on the obsession of the 'Verse that we Browncoats possess. If they were true Browncoats, they would understand. Firefy is more than a show. Its a metaphore. A metaphore for complete freedom in a unfree 'Verse. Its about love and belief. It shows love in its raw state better than anything I've ever encountered. It teaches you to stick to your principals, no matter what may get in your way. Mal loved and believed in his family of a crew, he gave up a chance of fortune in "Better Days." This is a world that we can escape into and put ourselves into any of the given situations and find something in ourselves to overcome what ever it was that made us want to escape. Its something more than entertainment. Anyone who thinks otherwise is full of gos se. Just with another thought. Maybe not as smily as yesterday, but more of a "huh" kinda thing. Xie xie, --CTMS

As you can see from my latest chapter, I didn't kill off Allan. I wanted him to go through a traumatic event to help him and Zoe realize their feelings for each other. That relationship will be strained a bit I think as Allan heals. He's a man of action so being laid up with a broken arm and two broken legs is going to drive him batty. Also look for some more Simon/Kaylee and Rayne stuff as well. Ta for now Brian

COSMICFUGITIVE

This is just a wee fic update.. For those who read my Resurgence series, it's still ongoing. I'll get back to writing the fourth chapter one day. Thankfully, the muse hasn't completely fell on its a**, and I'm still inspired. There's all manner of unpleasant and emotional stuff that I still need to write. But, I've decided to shift my focus to something special in the meantime. In the true 'horror movie remake' style, I've decided to rewrite the Schism series. The first piece of fic that kickstarted my whole writing bug. It's been four years since I wrote that crazy story. So, I thought that it would be fun to rewrite it for a new audience, and make a 'director's cut' for myself, as it were. :) This won't be a simple, lazy rewrite. There's going to be a narrative overhaul. The updated chapters will be fleshed out, and the plot will be presented in a more linear fashion. (As opposed to my surreal, Tarantinoesque, pinball machine style of storytelling back in the day.) My understanding of the characters has deepened, so I might change and add to existing dialogue too. I've been having a riot dealing with chapter one in a different light so far, and hope to have that uploaded soon.
