A friend of mine just bought me the Serenity soundtrack. I almost kissed him. Shhh...he doesn't know that. I love music. I love FF/Serenity. Now I can combine two of my obsessions. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! ... ... This might not bee a good thing. People may be frightened.

Okay, so this is driving me a little crazy. What is that tattoo that Nathan Fillion has? On FF it just looks like a black blob. I saw a picture of it from when he was on another show, but the picture was blurry and the thing just looked like a bunch of lines. So yeah I should probably make this a thread, but I'm wet, tired, and too lazy to do it. I'd say sue me but in this day and age I'm afraid somebody actually would.

Still waiting for my Serenity TPB from Amazon.co.uk. they are still claiming it's not published and won't be until March 31st!! in the future I'll just buy directly from the source. I did mail Dark Horse this morning asking whether there is a seperate Europe release date so hopefully they'll get Amazon to get a move on.

Yesterday I blogged about choosing to see the beauty of things. I have since had several reactions to it, in private. One, of a friend of mine, was both very beautiful and, in a way, very sad. Beautiful, because she was touched by the child-like wonder I can look at things (which, in turn, touched me); and sad, because I saw she doesn't think she's capable of doing that herself. :( This blog, therefore, is dedicated to her. Because today I received a gift. From Kayna. She made the most gorgeous River wallpaper, just for me. The Bushwhacked theme, with River marveling at the 'verse. And she no less put a dancing River in the reflection of River's helmet! From "Safe." And I now wish I were a poet, so I could pass on the thrill I feel when reflecting upon the magnitude of what she has done for me. Because of River? you ask. No, because of Kayna. :) She delivered a masterpiece of art, yes; and she invested her soul in that work; and that makes it an ever shiny object in space. But the real gift of hers is, that I can now turn to my friend, and tell her there's beauty in humanity; and not because I need it to be there, or choose to see it, but simply because it's really there! Right here! For all to witness! The gift from Kayna is like a loaf of bread, that I can unendingly break pieces off, and hand out to whoever wants one. Wonder bread, at that, literally. One I rigged especially so, that if you have a lump, it will engrave upon your heart these simple words: "You asked me what a man like me believes for? This is it!"

STATIC

Life has been the lowest level of suck-tastic for me for the past few months. There are a few errant rays of sun breaking through the black clouds, but not many. I've been absent because it's not my way to expose my friends and family to the ugly thing I become when I am like this. Trust me. You really don't want the unwarranted abuse. I've felt your outpouring of concern and love in your private emails and IMs, and I thank you. When things are better, you'll see me return 'my old self' once more. I hope. Chris

Well, I have officially fallen. Walking around the rodeo gounds singing "The Hero of Canton" certainly did not gain me any new boyfriends. But it did have people questioning my sobriety (and I was stone sober). I don't know which is worse, the fact that I was singing, or the fact that I was making up new words. I already sing the opening song, do I really need to sing about "Jayne"? What is it about this verse that has so entralled me? Is it some new virus? Did Joss have then put in subliminal messaging? Gods help me, cause no one else will.

I admit it. I lost it today. The frustration of the worlds longest job search got to me when Dice decided that my job search would be satisfied by a "Fire Protection Engineering" position. So, I responded to the postion with this: Hi Sheila, I am applying for this job with absolutely none of the qualifications. I am doing this because I have not had any luck applying for jobs where I might actually excel. I have found that some sort of tension release is regularly required in order to keep up the search. I apologize that I have chosen to waste your time by responding to your advertisement. I do wonder how a fire protection engineering position got included in my job search; but, it is probably just an infelicitous choice of keywords on one or both of our parts. My guess it is the phrase “project leadership” that got your job included rather than mechanical design. But that is the peril of keyword search programs. They don’t catch things like, “I have no experience preparing reports to document the results of design studies, trade studies, failure analyses, and test programs.” Although I do have lots of experience preparing and quantifying studies in the software and systems arena, I am sure they would not be of use for your position. I would like to suggest that you watch the DVDs of the Firefly series and the movie “Serenity”. If you have not seen them, they are very good and might serve as a positive out of what might otherwise be a waste of your time. Again, I apologize for wasting your time. Have a nice day. So the time has finally dawned when I could reach out and grasp the greatest DVD ever in my mortal hands or blue. My excitement was immense this morning as I awoke and immediately thought 'Serenity' in my head. I rushed out and bought my copy, urging others to emulate these actions for wholesome family fun. My aim is, as well as every other browncoat in the 'verse, to pass on the word of Firefly and Serenity to make the fan basis bigger, longer and more obese. I have done my duty as a browncoat to take my friends and girlfriend to see Serenity and I am also buying my girlfriend and one of my friends Serenity this week. I have passed on word to at least 20 people and advertise by wearing my blue sun t-shirt. I will keep buying merchendise, and buying people the DVD's as I'm sure other people will too. This is the time for the revolution, we can bring the pheonix back from the ashes. Peace out brethren and remember.. you can't stop the signal
