Can I just say there is nothing better to a poor Firefly fan who cannot afford the dvds until her birthday (I am talking about me if their are any really stupid people out there!)so anyway there is nothing better then four hours of Firefly I LOVE YOU SCI-FI!!! and I hate Wal-Mart and every other retail store I have been to cause none of them have the dvds so I cannot get them at the store, even for my Birthday which is now in...16 days whooohooo!!! I am gonna get a firefly t-shirt, the dvds, a poster anything and everythng firefly!! and for christmas SERENITY!!!!!!

I just started yet another game of Jade Empire, this time on the Xbox 360. Luckily, this game runs a lot smoother than poor ol' KOTOR did. (Knights of the Old Republic, the best Star Wars game ever. Period.) KOTOR suffers from occasional framerate problems, particularly if your character is running, and some of the cut scenes don't look so pretty anymore. But the story is still neat, the amusing bickering with Carth, getting the Sith drunk and taking their armor. The fighting queue (where you can list what you want your character to do) and the plot twist. Just super. What can I say? I'm a fool for Bioware RPGs. It took all of my willpower to stop playing Jade Empire after only one hour. One hour is like playing only one tennis match, eating half a cookie, drinking a sip of a chocolate margarita. Two things made me want to play Jade again -- finding out that Nathan Fillion is Gao the Lesser and also checking out how bad a beating this Xbox game is taking on the new system. Luckily, it still looks awful fetching, the animations are still smooth. It may not have all the polish of a 360 game, but it looks better than Gun, a recently released game created for (I think) all consoles. And then there's Gao. He still sounds like a brat, a slightly drunk brat, not at all like Mal, which is just as it should be. Ah, Gao, all the threats, jealousy, sleaze. It's just like old times. It makes it even more rewarding listening to the dialogue when one knows who the actor is. And my character's name -- Aaiyah the Exclaimer, somewhat inspired by "Firefly." I am so P'ed off at the fact that at my local cinema they only showed Serenity for one week and at the most obscure times that i couldn't make, they got rid of it for Potter (damn him). Luckily i had seen the BDM once but I needed to see it again, now i have to wait a millennium for the UK DVD release...:pissed:

Thank you, Haken! The Christmas lights are back! I love it! Tis the season, indeed! :D I've already added the Xmas wreath to my VW bus today and I'm going back down later to put up the Xmas lights on the inside. ;D My wife just got back with her best friend from buying a whole crap load of decorations from Target and Kohl's. Oy vey! Tho I must admit she did really well and got about ten bags of stuff for less than $150! I think she might just be excited for it to be Christmas time. :)

Ok, I'm sure someone has thought of this but I just gotta put it out there anyway in case no one has. Johnny Cash recorded a wonderful song called "A Boy named Sue" about a man whose father named him Sue and then ran off. All the boys life he is teased and mocked and as a result he grows up to be a fighter. He doesn't take any crap- he is in short a total bad ass. One day he catches up to his long lost father who explains that he gave his son the name Sue, knowing that he wouldn't be around to help him through life and that he would need to get tought fast, which he did. I have always favored that as an explanation for Jayne being called Jayne- as a way to insure he would grow up strong and capable of surviving. Anyway if you've never heard the song, listen to it. Johnny Cash was a genius and that song is one of his most memorable ballads. "My name is Sue how do you do? Now you're gonna die."

*door bangs* [b]No one expects the Firefly Inquisition![/b] Among our weapons are fear, surprise, DVD sets, Web sites, and a ruthless almost fanatical devotion to Joss Whedon! So, yeah, my best friend was in town for Thanksgiving, and I gave him a Firefly DVD set as an early Christmas present. He's a big Buffy fan, but he knows absolutely nothing about Firefly. Meaning he has no idea what kind of sweet, sweet pain awaits. Oh, but he will. In the immortal words of Dionne Warwick, that's what friends are for. Still have several more DVD sets wrapped and ready to give out for Christmas gifts. Bring on the pain. +++ Just picked up an Xbox 360, and I'm pretty sure I would kill a man in cold blood for a next-gen Firefly RPG. I'm looking at you, Bioware. For the game, not the killin'. Fillion worked on Jade Empire, so we know you already have him on speed dial. Bioware? Are you even listening to me?!? OK, what did I just say? (Hint: Speed dial.) +++ Here's one of those questions that has plagued mankind since the beginning of time: Why is it that Chris Cornell's music expresses Whedon characters so well? Is it the voice? The poetic angst? Does he go home after a concert and watch Buffy marathons? Was Cornell himself created by Whedon? It's tootsie roll center syndrome. The world may never know. +++ I'm working (loose definition) on a collaborative Firefly fic with my wife. It's big with the episodic western-ness and humor, which is cool since my last story was - urm - not. That woman amazes me. She's such a gifted poet that she can sit there and basically doodle prose in stream of consciousness... and suddenly there's this wonderfully askew, abstract vision that makes you question the way you see the world. Then she'll call it crap and trash it. Seems almost a shame to have her writing fic. It's like giving Beethoven a banjo. Play the Fifth, Cletus.

I've recently fallen in love with Firefly. I watched the whole series over the past few days and it is AMAZING. But everyone here already knows that. Anyway... just.. boppin' around.. waiting for Serenity to come out on dvd. Then waiting for the sequal. There MUST be a sequal. I want more Simon/Kaylee cuteness :kiss: the end.
