Hi folks. We did get more news from the doctors, or more accurately, from a doctor who wasn't affiliated with the hospital and cancer center mom was going to. The cancer is from the same uterine cancer that she had a year and a half ago that they were suppose to be following up on all this time. What they were doing on these "check ups" I'm seriously wondering about. The cancer has matasticized (sp?) and is inoperable and chemo won't do much for getting rid of it either. The doctors, when pressed, have finally admitted that it's terminal. Mom was in the hospital for six days. On the last day we enrolled her in hospice. The hospice has been great. They were over at the house less than a half an hour after Mom got home from the hospital. They've gotten her meds that are actually working for the pain and nausea, have gotten her equiptment (hospital bed, shower chair) to help make her more comfortable and safe while at home. I've been up both of the past weekends. Mom's okay with dying; she seems more upset about the nausea and pain actually. Strong faith is a wonderous thing. Thanks again for all the support. It's very comforting to know you all are here. *hugs fff.net denizens*

There is some controversy with the 'Verse. That is, what is is? How is it organized? Is is a single solar system with one star at it's center, or a solar system with several stars in it? One of the reasons for this controversy is an image presented in the movie, 'Serenity'. Sometimes referred to as the 'Teacher's map'

Well my uncle Edwin just passed today. He had been fighting a long battle with cancer that finally got the best of him. I never knew him personally but my mom is very upset. She'll be going to Alberta for his funeral soon, so it'll just be me and my dad (which will probably be a total disaster). It really sucks to see my mom this way, she is the youngest of 9 so it probably won't be the last time this happens. :(
