Okay, so I've been a bit 'meh' lately... so I have decided I am going to be POSITIVE. Yes, everything is SHINY. Absolutely... Things I have to look forward to in the next few weeks... 1. New Sheryl Crow album being released 22/Sept. 2. Serenity Comic #3 *and* Visual Companion being delivered, this week. 3. Serenity trading cards released 22/Sep. 4. Last day of work 28/Sep. 5. SERENITY released 29/Sep. 6. My nephew's bday 1/Oct (It's a Star Wars dress up... who am I supposed to go as? Hmm?). 7. Insulin Pump hook up. 11/Oct. (Oooh, health, yay!). So... my question being... what is everyone else looking forward to?

Ok, so it has come to my attention that my saga is abysmally confusing. (I give I, Claudius a run for its money when it comes to complexity.) This fact is not helped by the additional fact I post roughly every four months. :banghead: In form and pacing, this story resembles Deadwood far more closely than it does the pacing of Firefly (i.e. there a lot of dialogue with very little explanation and if you skip an installment things may not make sense). So I thought a little guide might be helpful. If this experiment is successful, then I’ll update this blog with the chapters. The Pillow Book of Inara Serra: A Readers Guide to Madness This story takes place a little less than 20 years after the end of the show. Mal and Inara finally got together and even had a child, Serenity. The Second War for Independence breaks out. Unfortunately, Mal loses Inara in the early days of the War. The circumstances leading up to her loss are such that Mal hates her memory and even their child. Mal has been further wounded by the loss of several members of his original crew. Those who survived have been living on Mal’s home planet of Shadow. Tensions tend to run high on the home front. Mal and his new crew, including Wash and Zoe’s son- Josh, are a special forces unit known as the Suicide Squad. They specialize in “anarchy.” On the other side of the verse, old (Atherton Wing) and new enemies (Ambassador Kali and Chancellor Lang) conspire to crush the Independence and bring victory to the Alliance. As part of their mackintoshes, Shadow has been invaded. The outcome of the war and the lives of those that are trapped in it matter a great deal to several interested parties. They deploy spies and agents to help influence outcomes. This story takes place in the final year of the war with lots of flashbacks. The series contains strong language, sex, drug/alcohol abuse, violence, adult themes, and permutations there of. If it were an episode, it would incur heavy fines from the FCC. It should not be read by children or those who take offense to the aforesaid subject matter. Tomorrow is going to be... weird. I'm eighteen. Been living at home all my life. Tomorrow I move into my new house in Nottingham (England), away from my mother and my grandparents, who I've always lived with. I'm excited. Mostly because not only are they protective, but they're totally smothering me. Even so, I know it's gonna be stressful trying to start running a whole new house. But Serenity came to my rescue! I'm going to the Empire screening tomorrow night which MIGHT be Serenity, then I'm going to see the Serenity screening on Tuesday in Nottingham, which is pretty much on my road. I don't think there's ANYTHING that could ease me into my new life better than that :biggrin: Although... I guess I really should have started packing before an hour ago.

SIMONWHO

Once more, my real life is swinging around in such leaps and bounds at the moment that I don't know if I can actually call it 'real' anymore. There's one incredible thing I'm having to put aside until the time is right to return. And yet I'm doing other things as well, in a kind of chain reaction. My new job is going well (I think). I haven't destroyed anything major yet at a client and so far they seem happy with me. Still more training necessary though. Plus I'm starting to look at moving to somewhere new. And an old friend/ex-friend has offered to take me skiing with bunch of other old friends/ex-friends. I'm booking my visa for going to Australia next month. These are interesting times for me. But that's the point I wanted to make about the 'verse in general. These are the interesting times, the magic moments, the golden days for our fanbase. A lot of people are just about to see the movie for the first time. We're going to find out (probably) if we're going to get our sequel. We're going to get a whole new set of fans. This is the travelling hopefully part of the process. I think we should just take a moment to appreciate it. *takes the moment* And we're done.

so, anyone else notice that we only have 12 FREAKIN' DAYS LEFT! i'm now throwing a party at my house for newbies and am staying up all night before making jayne hats while they watch ff. *super excited* i plan on entering the npr this i believe essay contest. once i'm done i plan on posting it here if you don't mind . . . how to mention firefly though? i suppose there is a way. i will win and be on the air and all the browncoats in the world will smile. i gave the first disc of the dvds to my physics teacher. he watched 'em with his 12 yr old son. apparently i should have answered in the affirmative when he asked about nudity -BUT YOU DON'T SEE ANYTHING. sorry, mr. he he he! 12 mo' days!
