Okay, so I've never done one of these, but I got a few things to confess, and this seems as good a place as any... 1) I'm ruined. Ever since I've been in to Firefly & Serenity, nothing else seems to compare. I just can't get in to any other shows(except Ghost Hunters, I confess a love for that). The rest of it seems so.... unshiny. 2) I'm addicted.I watch my DVD's whenever I can, I've even been known to fall asleep with them on... I've got this site as my home page, just so I don't feel alone in this obsession. I'm also writing fanfics, which I hope to post soon. 3) I'm in love. With Nathan. At first I thought it was just Mal, but the more I read about our Captain, the more I like him.He seems so sweet and down to earth, and *God* the man is gorgeous... 4)I ain't sorry for any of it!This last one is a sign that my proper English has disappeared due to repetitive viewing of Firefly...

Well, I'm well into Scene 2 of Chapter 2. Moving along pretty good now...just clipping right along now, yep. Should be up in a matter of days really. Getting unhealthfully attached to a pre-dead flashbacks only character. Sadly, I think this is his only scene. Need to focous on getting attached to Fred, Marla, and, of course, Jayne's ma. Oh...and hating Torrin. Gotta get started hating Torrin. Anyway...enough on that, I gotta go.

Well, here it is, my first Firefly blog; only seems fitting to talk a bit about my obsession. Especially as that obsession has passed the point of no return. I am now dreaming about our Big Damn Heroes (and some of their acquaintances). The earliest one was a couple of weeks ago. It seemed like it was post-BDM except that
Wash was still alive...
but River was sane so it was pretty hard to tell. Anyway, Serenity was visiting my neck of the woods as the crew and I sought to thwart the assassination of some big-shot official or other. So there we were, staking out a likely spot for an attempt, and next thing I knew I was making out with River. This kinda blew my mind - making out with any girl, let alone a cute little psychic, is just not something I ever expect to get a chance to do, but she was just such a sweetie about it...nope, can't say I didn't enjoy the moment. It even inspired a short fanfic that I do not expect to post here for quite some time, if ever. Then there was last week, when I shipped out with Serenity as a passenger. Didn't know where to, didn't know quite when, didn't much care about either as I was playing tonsil hockey with Kaylee.:kiss: There was no sign of continuity between dreams, though, because in spite of my worries River didn't seem jealous. Ah, such fun... ...until last night. Last night was dinner with the Niskas. *shudder* The old buzzard was getting his earful about killing his wife's nephew - and the freakage of it was, his wife looked just like my fourth-grade teacher with a lot more grey hair. Now if you knew my fourth-grade teacher, you wouldn't have to be River to figure out where THAT parallel came from. But still - really - dinner with the Niskas?? I wanna make out with Kaylee instead. I'll be in my bunk.

Hey all I noticed the ever popular "What do you do in real life" thread, but didn't have the energy to read all 295 posts on it. Also, I didn't think I could qualify for it since I'm a student (ie. unemployed). But there has been some recent development in the "searching for a job" department. I am currently waiting to hear back on whether or not I get one of two jobs that I've been interviewed for. The first job is with the Canadian Pacific Railway. Basically, this is for a seasonal laborer/track personnell position. I would be literally working on the railroad. I'd be working 10 hours a day, so I would actually get Fridays off, which is good because the earliest that I could get my wisdom teeth pulled out is on May 12th, a Friday. (I plan on listening to a bunch of psychidelic music during the operation while I'm tripping on anesthesia. Hey, might as well make the most of my legally sanctioned drug trip). It would be for the full summer, and if I pocket the per diem they give me everyday for food, I could make about 12 thousand in four months. Take away 20% for taxes and another 2000 for living expenses, I'd could be sitting on 8000 dollars by my 21st birthday, which would be more money than I've ever seen so far. I went for the interview where they only asked me three questions (I kept thinking Monty Python when they told me that), and last Monday I took the physical (a first for me). I should know by the 27th whether or not I have this job. (Update: Please refrain from any "I've been working on the railroad" jokes. I'm well aware of that stupid song and I don't need to be reminded of it.) And the other one was for this one I was called in on on Wednesday. I had applied for this "herbicide applicator" position and forgot about it. The guy finally called me and I went over to his house for an interview. With this job, I'd be driving a one ton truck (similar to the grain trucks I drive at the plant) and helping with the spraying or application of herbicides for all these different major companies around the province. I would be working between 65 and 75 hours a week, which would be about maybe ten or twelve hours a day for the full seven days, I'd probably only be in Regina for about four weeks in total at intermitten times, but I'd be done by the second week of August or earlier. And the guy said that I could make between 15 and 17 THOUSAND dollars. Take away the 20% for taxes and living expenses, which shouldn't actually be too much since I'd be away for the majority of the time, throw in maybe helping out at the farm during harvest for a little extra spending money, I could be sitting on ten thousand by the time I turn 21. Ten thousand fucking dollars. I could theoretically take a summer off to do summer school to make up for all those classes I dropped during my semesters and finally get my film degree. And actually pay for it out of my own pocket. I'll find out whether or not I got the job by next week. Hopefully next Wednesday. Oh well, one can dream. But y'all cross your fingers so that I get either one.

Well, I've been away from the Firefly community for a short while. I was just so busy. I've been going out at night dressed as a bat, waging a secret war against the dark underworld of suburban America and it is not pretty. I’ve seen things that would make the Spanish Inquisition look like the happy fun infidel culling hour. Unfortunately, it really was not as fun as I thought it would be. The good people at DC comics deceived me with their flashy artwork and their intricate crossovers. Batman deceived me. Criminals are neither superstitious nor cowardly. They are however very adept at insulting people who are dressed as giant bats. They really hurt my feelings although I suppose my emotional wounds are nothing compared to the physical wounds those dastardly fiends received at the claws of my trusty sidekick the Batcougar. Despite the drawbacks, it was a glorious time, violators of pedestrian traffic regulations and municipal codes cowered in fear for they knew they were under the vigilant gaze of The Splendiferous Magnanimous Bat Protector of Suburbia (I couldn’t use the name Batman because it’s copyrighted). Now my time as the Bat has passed and I shall pass the mantle of Splendiferous Batness down to a worthy successor, one who is even less educated, less able to interpret the law and more prone to bursts of extreme bone shattering violence against children and the elderly. Unfortunately, I’ll still be pretty busy with my new job, as a robot, a robot in disguise.

Over the Hills and Far Away ch 6 is up. yay! This was actually a surprisingly difficult chapter to write. I spent a lot of time avoiding writing and revising my outlines instead. Though I'm writing as I post, I do know almost everything that is going to happen in "Hills". There is a grand plan. As it turns out, Inara's backstory is going to take up a little more space than I had initially planned. I was talking with my friend about this, and she suggested that I could divide my story into two - Over The Hills and Far Away and Inara's Backstory. I'm not overly keen on doing this, but on the other hand it would give Inara's romance far more room to grow. So, if you would be so kind, dear blog reader... do you think this is a good idea, or a bad idea? Also, it is my Spring Break, so don't expect another chapter until at least the 30th (unless my inspiration bunny kicks into overdrive and I get chapter 7 done before wednesday). Hope everyone is doing well. Happy Friday!

Well its been a real slack day today - don't know if that has got anything to do with St Patty or not, but hey I'm not complaining - good to have the day off! Spent a portion of the day going through the vast and 'un-endless' (Yes its my own word & I'm keepin it) archive of stuff of FFF. Watched Serenity again - for the who knows how many times now - and FireFly:Heart of Gold and can't help but laugh at Jayne being poetic about his pecker - lol. Ahhh - slowly sipping more of that mystic elixer Sable, but bottle is empty. "Note to self get fresh supply!" Just now, sipping my Sable and listening to "My Heart Will Go On" by The Screaming Jets. And Before you ask - Yes they did do a version, An Australian Release. Throw in a bit of Pearl Jam & its makin this a cool evening. Ah well time to log off - take it easy all and have fun as "We Aim To Misbehave." PostScript: Thanks to all the crew that welcomed me replying to my last blog.

Okay I gotta share this little tidbit of weirdness. Picture this. I'm just driving down the road fliping radio stations and I come across Steppenwolf's Born to be wild. And I think this is a good omen the greatest driving song ever while I'm driving. Then it happens MY STEARING WHEEL CAME OFF IN MY HANDS. No I'm not kidding! I didn't know what to do so I kept on trying to make my car turn and then I hit the brakes. When I say I was trying to make my car turn I had the stearing wheel in my hands not connected to anything and was trying to turn with the power of my brain. In my mind was did the primary buffer panel just fall off my gorram ship? So I stopped in the turn lane for the opposite direction slaped the stearing wheel back down and whipped back into the correct lane. It was such a bizzare experiance I didn't even panic it was just like huh yeah this is odd. Anyway before I got to tell ya'll this I saw the Operative in kinky boots so yeah that took presedence.

Really funny chat with Kaele and MalNourished last night with the topper being the line that MalNourished interjected: MalNourished: i can get it from netflix and let you borrow it if need be Kaele: check your lifetime listing for saturday night MalNourished: if the tape doesn't work Kaele: was thinking of buying it if i like it that much MalNourished: but i will try to tape it (should work) Kaele: hell, i may just buy it anyway MalNourished: lol FollowMal: it's on my list of stuff I want with Nathan in it. MalNourished: I'M on my list of stuff i want with nathan in it MalNourished: wha? who said???? FollowMal: teehee, teehheeeeehhhe. FollowMal: * still chuckling* that was great Kaele: OMG MalNourished: LOL Kaele: i finally got that... It was too cute! On another note... I'm bummed. Read the interview with Mr. Fillion at darkhorse re: Slither and other stuff and although I'm so happy he's getting work and I know he'll make all this stuff look better than any actor could.... I hated the part where he said he couldn't be greedy and hope for more Firefly/Serenity. Well, that's not it verbatim, but it feels like he's moving on ( which, duh, he should), but I am still here holdin til Mal gets back. So I want Mal to come back!

Hi, I have been so desperate to cross paths with other Firefly fans it is not even funny. My brother and I got into the show fairly recently when the Sci-Fi channel did a Firefly marathon to hype up for Serenity the BDM! My brother taped them and let me borrow the tape and I watched five episodes in a row and then watched them over. They showed all the episodes including the ones never aired and they also showed them in a logical order starting with Serenity parts one two. That was that I was hooked. I then went out and got the DVDs of the show and couldn't wait for Serenity. I live in Vermont and so far I haven't found anyone I know outside my family who likes Firefly or calls themseves a Browncoat like me! It is great to be here with all you fellow Browncoats!

Thanks for all the encouragement offered after my last post. I am feeling somewhat better though not totally out of the fog yet. And nuclearday, I know all about Michigan weather. I live there, and that might have something to do with it. I'm not sure. On another note, I'm working on my first ever fanfic. It is, of course, about Firefly. It's frustrating because I can see it in my head like a movie but it's coming very hard onto paper. I'm very visual and tranfering what I see in my head to words is very difficult. It's a good story but I don't know about the writing. It's very slow going. If anyone's willing to beta when I'm done (which might be a while) let me know. I'l try not to take to long if I have someone. Anyway. Bye for now and remember that they can't take the sky from us!
