My daughter's spelling list this week included "shiny" and "river." Hmmmm, wonder if her teacher is a Browncoat??

So, graduation from college. Check. Summer in France, check. Death defying feat skirting a fourth story rain gutter...check. Its a long story, and you wouldn't believe me anyway, especially once I told you there was a nun involved. Now that the important stuff is out of the way I get to persue my lofty goals of working for a computer animation studio. Wish me luck (lots of it) my firefly friends. I'm sending a resume and demo reel to Zoic. Friday. Do I expect to even hear back from them? Hell no. I know, I *know* I'm going to end up working for Electronic Arts making cars or some such and pulling 50 hour days. (how can you pull a work day that has more hours then the accepted day/night cycle? Don't ask.) But, A man has to dream, and most of mine involve hammering virtual rivits into the sides of equally virtual spacecraft. So, wish me luck. I'll be too busy talking to the night sky in the vain hopes that jimmeny cricket shows or my fairy godmother shows up to ask for some on my own.

Agent Starling: "He watches the Firefly DVD set constantly. He listens to his favorite singers over and over until his ears bleed. He-" Dr. Lecter: "No, that is incidental. What is his nature?" He obsesses. Boy, do I! I love me some obsession. Love it like Homer loves donuts, like Duncan loves dunking, like Nick loves Jessica... urm, scratch that last one. But why? Why must my mind constantly drift back to the same obscure singer or cult TV show like it's stuck in some kind of loop? Why must I feel like I have to share those obsessions with casual friends - most of whom probably couldn't care less and think I'm progressively more insane with each crusade. Who knows. Thank God it's fun. Unless you're one of my friends, of course. +++ Recently finished a collaborative Firefly fic with my wife. It can be found here:

Well, henceforth it is the beginning of the Christmas holidays down here at the good ole University of Kent. Three weeks off! (But I don't get paid which is a bummer. But I'll survive I'm sure.) Today I'm off to dinner with the Randomites, well some of us anyway! Can't wait to see em all again. This is just a quick blog to say that I won't be around these parts much over the next three weeks. So if you could all make sure that nothing interesting happens during the time I'm away it would be greatly appreciated. Nah, feel free to have all the fun you want, just so long as someone tells me all about it when I get back! Happy holidays! Much love Alison x-x-x-x

Well, I finally handed out my 12+ invitations to a Firefly marathon/Serenity premiere on Tuesday! It's gonna be an all-nighter, but I'm debating which episodes to show first. Ideally I'd like to start the movie before midnight, and show at least the pilot Serenity, Shindig, Jaynestown, and Objects in Space, but I really want to show War Stories, and Ariel, and more, but time...well, the party starts at 6pm and we're gonna order chinese food, and I'm making Mudder's Milk and possibly Jayne's Pie featured on the main site. I'm thinking that what we don't finish we'll watch in the morning. I really wish it could start earlier, but that was the earliest time I could get. C'est la vie. Here's to hopeing it will be a success, and hopefully end with a few more browncoats to add to the pot!*runs off to make decorations*
