So... I graduated from University on Wednesday. The whole cap & gown thing. A nice framed degree certificate to put up on the wall once I've finished redecorating. It's weird, you know. After three years in one place, meeting all the new people, I was walking around in a daze on Wednesday 'cause I kind of figured I wouldn't be seeing many - or any - of them again. I remember after finishing school, we all said we would keep in touch, but after a few months it all fell apart. Haven't seen or heard from them since. And you want to know what the real killer is? I'm not entirely sure I miss them. I feel like I've moved on so much since then, and I'm sure they have too, that we probably wouldn't recognise each other if we passed on the streets. I guess I'm just feeling a bit nostalgic, is all. Nothing lasts forver, after all. Well, you all know that, or else you wouldn't be visiting this site. QUOTE OF THE DAY: "You see... I believe that when we leave a place, part of it goes with us and a part of us remains. Go anywhere in this station when it is quiet, and just listen. After a while you will hear the echoes of all our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone, our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit that the part of me that is going will very much miss the part of you that is staying."

Commuting to a large metropolitan center like New York City every day takes some doing. You gotta know where you're going, how to get there, and which way to walk when you pop up out of the subway. If you don't, you're the one that has walked up half of a whole block only to discover you're heading the wrong way. Trust me, I've done it. But y'know, there are some things that guidebooks and maps don't ever tell you about New York City, whether you are travelling for work or just visiting, so I thought I would enlighten you. For today, I shall give you my first piece of advice for walking through the Big Apple: Don't walk in puddles! I mean it, even after it has rained, like, minutes ago, there is often something other than that soggy gray pigeon that has pooled there. Puddles often contain pee, people, and not pee from cats, dogs, or iguanas on leashes. It's pee from people, people. So if you'd like to keep your toes happy and your flip-flops stinky-free, for the love of Mike, hop over those puddles.

so, thanks to the thread from the BDEs i'm less bitter than i was. it was very hard to not be jealous, but it helps to know that the people who got to do the scene were so enthusiastic and got to see so much. sorry to anyone who read that other blog and saw "the real me." Side note: when i saw the thread "What if roles were reversed?" i immediately jumped to "Would River have been able to give up everything to save Simon?" ... but that's not anywhere near what the thread is about. ah well. i will contemplate my own self.

Well I'm off on holiday for a week. I'm staying in a cottage on the Isle of Wight (small island just off the south coast of England) with a group of 10 friends. If it's raining (which I expect it will be) and so the beach isn't inviting- then I might have a chance to make 9 new converts. Wish me luck. I'll be without the internet for a week but I'll be back soon. Heb ps. You know your obsession is getting bad when you pray for rain on your holiday just so you can convert people.

I am on a three day smore binge and feeling a little loopy. So I checked out the vintage store across the street because I could. What should I find there? Hidden between some really ugly old clothes was a gorgeous orange satin 40s nightgown. The size is a little off, but it's less then $20. Do I go for it? I've never thought of myself as the Inara type, but the thing is hanging on a rack 100 yds from where I sit right now. What if it's not there when i go back? Then I got my hopes up for nothing. Oh, gosh. I want to go back but it seems so naughty.
