There is a chance that chapter 51 will go up this week before next Sunday (if so, chapter 52 will go up on Sunday). It's writing itself, which is always good, but I do have to complete a draft of my MA thesis by Wednesday afternoon Zulu Time, so we'll see.

Last night, I had my first Firefly party. A couple of my friends have seen the show and love it, but many others hadn't and didn't understand our inside jokes when we referenced the show. So, I did what ever good browncoat does and had a viewing party! It went pretty well! About twelve people showed up and they all loved it! In the middle of showing the Serenity Pilot, someone asked the inevitable question, "Why was this show cancelled?" I replied, "Because (insert that network's name here) doesn't know how to manage television." We also watched The Train Job and Bushwhacked. If we all didn't have places to be this morning, I think we would have been eager to keep watching more. I told everyone that they can buy the BDS at Target for about $20. There is definitely going to be a Firefly Party, Part 2! ---------------------------------------------------- Well, I found a surprise when I opened my browser a few minutes ago and found Nathan Fillion staring back at me! Yahoo has several clips of Drive up on their web page, and I watched some of them. I fell out of my seat when opened the clip for the "exclusive first four minutes of Drive". The first scene has Alex (Nathan) being interviewed by a Voice. I like this Voice, the way it goes out. It has a good design! I could hear this Voice saying, "Well... here I am." Yes, folks. This voice belongs to Richard Books who played Jubal Early in Objects in Space! I love that the last time Nathan and Richard appeared on the same screen was the last episode of Firefly! There is a certain justice to it! Thank you, Tim!

Even as I was posting in the picture thread this morning I heard my text-message alert going off. An old college buddy - a girl I worked with at the bus service, and had a severe crush on for a few years - had sent me a picture that I couldn't check while my gorram phone was in roaming mode. So I checked it again while hanging out at Panera and making that BDTY present for PhoenixRose (which, PR, I do hope you've seen by now ). Well, this old college buddy has been seeing a mutual friend/co-worker for a little over a year. He's a very good dude. I got along with him well enough, and it ain't hard to suss out why they got together - they've so much in common that I was surprised they didn't get together a long time before they did. Well, anyway: The upshot of it is, I should have seen that picture long before I viewed it. Because they're engaged. I keep telling myself not to be disappointed. As I say, I crushed on this girl for years: she was the only girl I ever worked up the nerve to ask out, which ended up a complete flop, along with my subsequent attempts to make it up to her. Our "friendship" was, at best, rockier than shoal waters until I finally stopped talking to her when she got a steady guy. Long story short: years elapsed, I met somebody as well, found something I'd been looking for since the year of the flood, and at last found my way clear to forgiving her all that heartache. I'm very grateful that we picked up the pieces and became friends again. So I keep saying, Don't be disappointed. She's happy, she should be happy, she'll still be happy years and decades from now, and that's what matters. But

So...I was going fine and writing this Waiting series and I even have the start of the fourth piece...but it keeps stalling out. So, this is just to try and let everyone know that...um...I'm working on it. Hopefully, there will be a fourth piece and it will make people smile and sigh with contentment. But I'm...waiting. (that sounds so corny...how could i write that? i'm disowning myself...) Anyway, HUGE thanks to Platonist, Ambodell, EmpireX, epm0001, and anyone else who's stuck with me through this series... THANKS, PEOPLE!

With their bloody incessant tweeting outside my window at 4am. If I had a gun, I would quite happily shoot them. Until then I will happily plot their deaths in my sleep-deprived mind. Roll on bloody winter.

Dear fellow Browncoats, Just to let you all know first hand. Hi. My name is Superfluous. Obviously that’s not my real name; although it would be really cool if it was (have it on a nametag perhaps). This is technically my first time ‘blogging’ by the way, so… be gentle. These days, I spend allot of time thinking about the hereafter… I go somewhere to get something and then wonder why I’m here after. About a year ago, I was looking for something. Not entirely sure why. And it was really hard to find. But I tracked it down and now I’m really glad I found it. What I found was ‘Serenity’ the DVD. I watched the movie and fell in love. Then I bought the show. I hated it (kidding). It was interesting; it was provocative; it was original and I was hooked. Soon afterwards, I took it upon myself to find anything about the show (anything). The cast, the stories, the fan art/fiction, whatever took my fancy. I looked and I looked. And eventually, I found this site; in which I found genuine McCoy Browncoats. And as it turns out, I’ve been here ever since. Apparently for 1-year anniversaries, there’s a gift involved (either something paper or a clock). Seeing which this is the Internet, that’s not really an option. Sorry. But I have some good news though. You may (or may not know me) for my Art on this site (hope you all like what I’ve made so far). If it interests anyone to know; soon I will be posting a ‘series’ of animated pics (based on the show). Its half animation / half text, but it should be excellent when completed. Also, I am writing my first ever fanfic. It’s going slowly, and it will probably be finished in 2009. If I’m lucky. So that’s all I really have to say. One year ago: I discovered Firefly. I joined this site and became a Browncoat. Thanks.

It has been just over a year since I posted my last log and a heck of a lot has happened since then for me. For one, there was the breakup with my long term girlfriend, and also the getting of my new girlfriend. I am now in university studying journalism but still spreading the message of the BDS and the BDM. Got many people into it. What do I want to see this year? I think it's gonna be the same as all of you, relighting the firefly.

Ok folks for the 4 people who haven't been exposed to the disgusting pic...ignore this Everyone else...I am so sorry. I will never ever hotlink again!!! I appologize to anyone who saw that image and I and my husband have gone through and removed it everywhere we found it. ( which took hours) I have definitely learned my lesson and will only use photobucket from now on. Again I am truly sorry for what happened and I appreciate all of you who took the time to let me know that this had happened. If you replied to me with quote and copied my sig, I ask that you delete it immediately even if it looks like a cat pic, it shows up as porn for some and not for others. I am so very sorry for all this trouble. Thanks again all:)

I just posted my second Mal/Inara fic. It's a sequel to Plan A Never Works. I misidentified it in the AN. Its been a while since I saw it. Mal and Inara wake up on the couch together the night after indulging in a lot of Kaylee's brew. All I'll say is misunderstanding and fun ensues.
