I was watching the deleted scenes on my Serenity DVD and, while in intense Adam-focus mode (wherein I watch only him during a scene) I noticed something. When Jayne hands Book the cigars, he snatches one back at the last minute, like he couldn't really stand to be TOO generous with the gift-giving. It's subtle, but very true to character. Another of Adam's little additions, I think. Anyone else pick that up?

I'm a happy Browncoat. I finally got Followmal and Malnourished to download YIM and chat with me. *hint hint* SURE WOULD BE NICE IF OTHERS DID THE SAME. ---- I am frustrated. I've only been here a short while, but I'm sort of stuck. I'm getting a feeling of a lack of organizations of Firefly fans. There are so many GOOD and GREAT websites out there, but nothing centralized. There's no one keeping track of who's posting, who's not. There's also no way of organizing a writing campaign except cross-posting across multiple websites. I cannot resist the urge to be reminded of the Star Trek Starships. Local groups who gather at regular times, led by a Captain and handed ranks by participation. It would translate very well to Browncoats, but the particulars are eluding me for now. I don't like the idea of fans falling through the cracks. I don't like the idea of us not being represented like other organizations at scifi conventions. I REALLY don't like the idea of trickling. We need to puddle! We need to uh...what does a river do? (Besides make up creepy nursery rhymes.) ROAR! I believe I shall be falling back onto what I already know. Time to call on the Prydonians of Princeton and pay my dues once more and then steal. Petty theft was good enough for Mal, so it'll be good enough for me. I shall examine them and strip them of all relevant knowledge, then stiff them on dues. No, all kidding aside, if they can do it so can I. Heck, thanks to Ben from the Bryn Mawr Theater, I KNOW there are Browncoats in the Philly area. Hundreds most likely. If anyone reads this and can help, please let me know?

I'm stuck, stuck, stuck and frustrated. Where is "Thinking things through" going? Only Buddha knows. 'cause I don't. I think I've written one too many reports in RL and fried my brain. Unusually for me even the bones of chapter 9 aren't working as they should...so I'm giving up for tonight. "Tomorrow is another day" and maybe the plot bunnies will attack.

I just recently came upon this site, and I am glad that i did. I have also recently heard rumors about a season two, and i am wondering if the same actors will be in it. If not is just wouldn't be the same. I really hope it goes through with the same characters. That would be great. I am gonna go. Hoping for the best

Wow, thank you all who commented on my log entry yesterday. I am really feeling a lot better today, actually, I started feeling better last night already. Funny what two bottles of beer and four episodes of Buffy can do for you :smile: It wasn't just that of course. Your wonderful comments really did comfort me a lot and made me feel that I am part of the crew. One of my real life friends (and fellow browncoat and player in my rpg-group) called me on the phone and cheered me up, too. So I really could end the day with the feeling that I am not alone and that was a very good thing. Today everything is back to normal and I am my old wisecracking ironic self again. And now I will watch some more Buffy and then I will go to choir rehearsal and then probably watch even more Buffy ... life is just so nice :biggrin:

This is for all the newbies to fanfic out there. I'm not going to go into a big long history of slash fanfiction and why it's called slash. If you want to know that, you can find it lots of places on the 'net--just google it. What I do want to say is this--you know when you see a story with Mal/Inara or Jayne/Kaylee or Zoe/Wash in the description that it's a story with those characters presented as a couple. Well, the same thing goes when the description says Mal/Simon or Simon/Jayne or Mal/Jayne--or even River/Kaylee, Kaylee/Inara, etc. The story is going to be about these characters, most likely paired romantically. Those of us who write slash understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea. That's why we label it with a slash warning. If you read the story anyway, without knowing what that means, and don't like what you read, please don't rant at us. We did warn you. Rational, adult comments are always appreciated, but ranting will more than likely be ignored. I have to say that I have been fortunate enough to not have anyone rant at me for my stories, for which I am sincerely grateful, but I have seen such comments on other author's stories. Thank you to everyone who has read and/or commented on my stories--even if slash isn't your thing. Your comments are greatly appreciated! Hope this clarifies the terminology for the uninitiated, and that my fellow slash writers don't feel I've stepped on anyone's toes. *g* Long live slash!

So I have 10 more minutes before I start work (officially) - make that 9 minutes... Anyways I was sitting here thinking how great I smell (I have a brand spankin' new perfume - j'adore... v. nice!) and it's filling my head with, well beauty :) and I thought I would fill you in more about moi (LOADS OF NOTHING SO I WARN YOU, IF YOU GET BORED EASILY... [b]STOP READING NOW[/b]) I actually made an effort today - to look kinda professional, I actually wore heels and [b]NOT[/b] my comfy thongs!! I work as a call centre chick and I get to wear those groovy head set thingys!! I work for the New South Wales Government in the department of Commerce - it sounds pretty professional but really isn't. I take calls from schools / railways / government buildings when they have a problem a tradey can fix... I go out partying with my boys, aka the contractors and they are pretty cool - I have only been really sloshed twice and painted the town red (literally)

So here I am at work and wonders of all wonders there's nothing to do. And now here's a question. Does anyone else get so excited when they talk to people about firefly or serenity that they gesture all wide and there voice gets louder and they feel like they're describing there new crush to there best friend? Just cause I did that today to someone and plum forgot that I was on my way to the rest room and went back to my seat and relised I still had to go. Silly stuff just beause I've got nothing better to do and you've read this so that means you've got nothing to do which is real shiny. I sit with my lap top and my internet all day at work and then work when I'm at home. Somthings wronge with that picture. I spend a lot of time doing work stuff and no time with my friends (probably why I don't have any more). Well this is a whole lot o drivel. Anyway I hope you all will like me and respond with clever little quips and make me feel special in my little box.
