Prophet and other writing stuff.
Monday, 14 November 2005 02:14:52

Someone over at ff.net feels very protective over Simon after the last part of my fic. Prophet was, apparently, a bad boy. This doesn't bode well. I hate making readers man. I get flashbacks to the whole Lana debacle from my Smallville series. It's still upsetting, even after four years. Of course, it's possible I hold onto things for too long. I have a feeling I'll be rewatching all my Firefly DVDs soon. I'm getting FF withdrawl.

A Firefly Question
Monday, 14 November 2005 05:22:58

I play Scholastic Bowl (aka jeopardy in teams) with questions on just about everything. To my great delight 3recent related questions were on former sci fi tV show Captains, with the middle one being our own Captain Reynolds. Of course the moderator and everyoneelse (except scifi friends and Buddy) thinks i'm nuts, esp. 'cause i'm carrying my 2 ticket stubs around in my pocket.

HUTZAH!

So... that test wasn't a complete loss... well it was... but... well... It WAS in the sense that I failed... but most of the class failed, and it created a class bonding experience when we were done! XD SO, it was a slide ID of 20 artifacts, right? At the end of the test we all went over the answers as a class. First off, the guy next to me asks "Hey... are you going to curve this thing?" Then, halfway through (on the 10th slide) one guy yells out "YAY! I GOT 2 RIGHT!!!" The guy next to me then says "I WISH I got 2 right!" The prof says "I should HOPE you got more than 2 right." The entire class goes silent. After we went over the answers he basically said "Yeah, don't worry if you did bad. I mean, if you did well on your other tests then this really won't matter too much towards your grade... maybe half of a letter or so." Then he adds "See... this was basically to humiliate you all." HAHAHHAHA....::deadpan glare:: Also, I'm doing alright (getting a B) in everything but Geology (which I'm frighted of since I missed so many days seeing as it's at 9 and my happy wake up time isn't until 11. Also... I'm scared to know how I'm doing in Japanese... and I don't even thing the professor himself would know... seeing as he's a bit "off." As in... he's completely insane... like... he's... crazy... nutters... freaktastic... etc etc. ::Shrugs:: Oh well... at least I scored higher than the hoity toity girl on the last test! XD BOOYAH!!! EDIT: OH YEAH! I FORGOT TO MENTION! I SO got "The Ballad Of Serenity" to play on the campus radio station here! XD SCHWEET!!!

I'm new on fireflyfans.net and I feel out of the loop I guess. Are their any Australian fans out there? Or anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet. I was going to go on the 'chat' section but everyone seems to know each other already and it feels like I'm just butting in. So if anyone out there wants to say hi then PLEEASSEE do.

I'm sick, aaaarrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhh!
Monday, 14 November 2005 18:55:34

I woke up this morning hoping it was all in my head, but my nose is stuffed up and my throat hurts like hell. I've managed to get sick smack dab in the middle of my gorram midterms! All I want to do is stay in bed, watch tv and read, but alas I am forced to drive the 30 minutes to campus and pretend like I care about my education. At least Thanksgiving is next week, 4 days of turkey, tv and if I have my way, sleep. Wish me luck people, I am going out into the world! *storms away like a woman on a mission*

The Real River Tam (part four)
Monday, 14 November 2005 19:51:49

Not so much a large tale to tell, but a funny thing happened the other day (as related to me by my wife). So her River-esque student was doing a Think-Pair-Share with a classmate. Basically you read something, pair off, and discuss it in case you've never done it before. My wife is monitoring the class when all of a sudden this student starts saying "Miranda! Miranda!" over and over again. Pause. Look of shock and surprise. Flashbacks of the film.... Then she remembered that the classmate she was talking with has the last name of Miranda. Heehee! Really not that amazing, but the way my wife tells it...she really tripped out for a moment there!

Part Three of The Invited
Monday, 14 November 2005 21:13:08

Hey guys, I know you're waiting for part three of The Invited, but it's going to take a couple more days for me to work on. I have a certain length I shoot for with each part, and this one is just taking a little bit longer to get to because I've been so busy. It should be up soon!! :-)

CUB
Songs that fit Firefly/Buffy/Angel characters?
Monday, 14 November 2005 21:30:58

Thanks to a lot of help from another Firefly fan, I'm (hopefully) going to be working on some fan music videos for Firefly, Buffy, and Angel. I'm planning to do vids that highlight specific characters, but also vids for certain relationships as well as whole-cast-type vids. I've already got a few songs that I know would be absolutely perfect: --- Firefly MAL/INARA montage - "Flutter Girl," Chris Cornell (Euphoria Morning) JAYNE - "Born Too Slow," The Crystal Method (Legion of Boom) RIVER - "Bring Me To Life," Evanescence (Fallen) FULL CAST - "Personal Jesus," Depeche Mode (The Singles) --- Buffy/Angel SPIKE - "Bullet With Butterfly Wings," Smashing Pumpkins (Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness) FAITH - "Living Dead Girl," Rob Zombie (American Made Music to Strip By) BUFFY/FAITH MONTAGE - "Preaching the End of the World," Chris Cornell (Euphoria Morning) ANGEL - "Golgotha Tenement Blues," Machines of Loving Grace (The Crow soundtrack) --- I'd love to hear any other suggestions of songs that would be a perfect fit for a character or a relationship. Some of these videos I can already see in my head, particularly the Spike one, the River one, and the Faith one.
