SESSION

Well...over the weekend, me and some other guys got together and played an all-night session of Serenity. I was pretty beat the next day, but it was so worth it. The GM fell asleep while we were going in-between moons and we had to wake him up to see if anything happened. It was quite hilarious.

I'm the Game Master for an online message board Serenity RP. Below is a background based on a roleplaying background, and not the actual background of the Wash on Firefly. I made this background up, trying to make him a bit more...fighter type.
Wash was born and raised on Beaumonde, a heavily industrialized planet. Most of the factories there are run by Blue Sun, but rumors are that a few of these aren’t really factories at all; or if they are, then they’re turning out more than canned goods. Security is tight on all Blue Sun planets, so no one has been able to find if these rumors are true or not.
Due to the high industrial output, pollution was a problem when Wash was growing up. Every year, more pollutants found their way into the water and soil, causing all manner of difficulty to those living off the land. Because of this, Wash’s parents sent him to a Central Planet, Ariel. Wash also left his life-long sweetheart, Zoe, behind. He hopes to meet up with her one day and marry her.
Wash then went under Alliance schooling to become a pilot. When the Battle of Serenity came, they assigned him to fly one of the ships, but he refused to do so, being sympathetic to the Browncoat’s cause. The Alliance didn’t listen to his complaints about not wanting to fly the ship, and placed him on their large ship. However, on the way to the battle, Wash held one of the officers at gunpoint and forced them to land somewhere else. When he had done that, he took control and flew back to headquarters, where he was stripped of his Alliance pilot rank and sent to Osiris for a hearing.
After three weeks in prison (during which he kept himself occupied by shadow puppets), his case came up, and he was voted “not guilty” by the High Court. It was a stroke of luck for him.
Wash was sent back to Ariel, where he met William Kane, who was looking for a pilot to fly his new ship, Odyssey. Wash agreed to the position, and has been flying for Kane ever since.
Wash enjoys playing with plastic dinosaurs, and has a collection of them on top of the ship’s dashboard, where he distresses after a large job is complete.
Wash is a bit of a lightweight, and tends to succumb to outside sources more than most people, like alcohol. He doesn’t sing unless he’s drunk, so you’ll always know how much he’s had if you can hear him singing down the hallway.
