1. Both have amazing, very intriguing characters.
2. Both have a fantastic cast, all of whom have great chemistry on screen.
3. Storylines in FireFly are great, What we saw of the Arc before the show was cancelled was great fun and very intruiging. As for Androemda, Season 1 and 2 had a BRILLIANT storyline and the story-arc they started left me wanting more- if only they had continued the engine of creation story and the Lucifer idea! DANM YOU BOB ENGLES.
4. Both were ruined early on! Firefly was canned before the first season, and Andromeda went crap before the second season had finished (The original writers and creators of the show left because the production company told them they wanted more action!)
5. Both Captain Dylan Hunt and Captain Malcom Reynolds are reffered to as "Captain Tightpants" by crew members.
