Just got my Buffy season 7 set in the mail from amazon last night. watching the first episode, Lessons, and in the first part, while she is training Dawn Against the new vamp, buffy throws that vampire against a headstone, the name on it is "Ariel Jayne".

anyone else spotted any "hidden Fireflies" so to speak, in season 7?

In one of the latter episodes (I haven't gotten that far on the DVDs yet, so I'm not sure which one - one of the last five) Buffy tells Caleb (played, of course, by Nathan Fillion) "If you go near Xander again, I will END you!" Mal said the same thing, "I will end you" to a character in "Our Mrs. Reynolds".

"I like smackin' 'em!" - Jayne Cobb

I haven't looked for things like that in Buffy's season 7, yet. However, in season 4 of Angel there's a good one in the episode "Peace Out". After Gina (as Jasmine) has captured the fang gang (sans Angel) and had them brought back to the hotel, Wesley says something to her like "If you'd wanted to kill us you already would have." (or something to that effect). Gina, in a loud voice, says "Patience!" Of course, your immediate thought is that she's telling Wes to be patient because she'll get around to killing them. Instead, a woman named Patience walks into the room - obviously a reference to Mal's old "pal", Patience, from "Serenity".

Wow.

I wonder... seeing as Jayne almost did die in "Ariel," was this little Easter Egg intended to fool anyone who spotted it into thinking he would?

And here I thought I was just seeing things.

Haven't spotted any more "hidden Fireflies" yet, but I'm only two discs in.

Probably not an intentional connection....but way back in Buffy Season 3 the song 'Blue Sun' was featured in the ep Faith,Hope & Tricks. Or is that common knowlege?
Ah....that's the ep where Angel drops buck naked from another demention... I tried putting my own claddaugh ring on the ground several times just in case but to no avail.
