After a suggestion on this week's Sunday virtual shindig we decided to have shindigs both on Tuesdays and Sundays. The Tuesday shindig should be around midnight UK time (will be specified by the people who'll actually be there...people not me), Sunday's virtual shindig is still at the same time (9pm Germany, Slovenia,... 8pm UK, 3pm East coast USA, Noon West coast USA). The virtual shindigs take place on AIM and here are the instructions for joining for some who might have missed them:
If you'd like to join, visit www.aim.com and download the program from the upper left corner and install it. The installation is pretty standard, you just have to provide an email address and choose a username and password. Once the program is up and running (I'll describe this for the PC version), click the 'people' menu and choose 'send chat invitation'. In the window that opens put your nickname into the list of people to invite (upper half) and 'Firefly' into the lowerpart for the name of the chat room and click the send/invite button. This way you can invite yourself into the Firefly room anytime.
You can add the people there to your buddy list, so you can see who's online at the moment. I currently have 44 people just for the Firefly room, so it might take some time to get them all. I think there's also a posibility for someone to send you their buddy lists. For example you can click the 'setup +-' icon in the lower right corner of your buddy list and click 'add buddy' in the next window. Just type in the nickname (for example mine is Chronos FFF), press enter and close the window. Now you have me in your buddy list and can see if I'm online.
That's about it, for more info look me up online or write at aywyn@email.si. Keep flying.
I also suggest that you try to use the same nick on AIM as you do here. You don't have to of course, It's just easier for people to recognize you. If the nick is taken try putting FFF at the end like I did.
Keep flying!
Take me out to the black, tell them I ain't coming back

Methinks its 7pm for me and 4pm for you, though daylight savings may muck things up. Doesn't really matter, we tend to gather early anyway. You're honorbound to show up now.

Nothin' says we can't also so it whenever the whim takes us, though I don't know if it will work any better than the chat room here. In IM, go to "People", "Send Chat Invitation", put your username (and any friends) in the first field and type "Firefly" for the room name. Easy as lyin'.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I was missing Tuesday nights! I will totally be there as soon as I can. I'm on vacation in Atlanta at beautiful Dragon*Con. I am going to be so tired when I get out of here.
(should really be a fork)
THE MOVIE IS GOING TO BE AWESOME, GUYS. If Jewel said she cried when she read the script... if our BDH look *HOT* (which they do)... if Adam said Serenity is the best film he's ever been in... if Nathan, Gina and Jewel were crying while watching Summer on a video monitor during a take... IT'S GOING TO BE SO VERY SWEET. *keeps a watch on the countdown to April 22nd*
We'll need to chat about ways to market and set some goals, i.e. conversion, letters, etc. Any and all ideas welcome. Serenity is our HOME. Adam said the movie will need to make a certain amount on opening weekend for Universal to consider sequels. The option is there; but it hinges on the success of Serenity. Translation = we've got to get up near or over $100M.
OUR BDH HAVE DONE THE IMPOSSIBLE; IT'S OUR TURN TO RETURN THE FAVOR. These people are the genuine articles. Before Adam said goodbye to us Saturday night, he said it wasn't because of the cast that the movie was made - it was because of the determination of Joss and the outcry from the fans. Nathan remembered faces and names (his parents taught him well). Jewel felt like she was intruding our fan panel (?!). They are the real deal and they deserve to get the chance to do it all again (and again...)!

Anyway, I invited a few others, & we chatted away, more about the rest of the Jossverse than FF. There may be a bit of a holiday hangover effect here (heck, I didn't even realize it was Shindig time 'til I was posting about Sunday's VS, to this thread). I'll try to be more punctual next week.

Please do, Jack, but let folks know that Tuesdays tend to be just general chat, rather than a VS with multiple folks watchin' the same ep @the same time & talkin' about it. Of course, even on Sundays, a lot of the chat has nothing to do with the ep we're supposedly watchin'.

We've moved the start times of both VSs up one hour, so Sunday starts 'round noon Mountain time.

Never heard of him. Must be a mistake.
Actually it was Alan who first suggested we move the start times up one hour. Eboneezer & Mal-licious, who first suggested these VSs, both live in the USA (Ebo in Pacific time). Alan, who lives in Britain, pointed out that the original Sunday start time left him running out of gas before the VS does (we often run four hours on Sundays), and Tuesdays were simply not possible.

Someone (Cimborn, I think) introduced a new convert to the VS. We let the rookie choose the ep, & he picked Our Mrs Reynolds. There was a good crowd for the VS.
There were Firefly chats on Tuesdays, January 25 and February 1, but as usual, there was no more than a cursory question as to whether we'd watch any Firefly. Tuesdays are our General Discussions chat.
