USDA Scientist Quits, Claims Trump Administration Tried To Bury His Climate Study
A top climate scientist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture has resigned in protest of what he describes as the Trump administration’s efforts to censor and suppress climate science.
In a Politico article published Monday, Lewis Ziska, a plant physiologist with more than two decades of experience working for USDA’s Agricultural Research Service, said he decided to quit after department officials tried to bury a paper he wrote on how rice is losing nutrients because of rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

I wish these decent people would stop QUITTING. I know, hard, maybe even wrong for me to judge, but it sure seems like a lot of them just walk away.

In other words, much better to follow the money than to stand up for what you believe in.
Don't we only have like 12 months left to fix the climate before we doom ourselves? You would think that would lessen the worry about your long-term career if you actually believed that.

My point being, and I've always said this about anybody who claims they've quit because of something Trump did, is that these people are in positions where they can make a difference. By quitting their jobs and making a stink about it, they do nothing but make one single headline in a vast sea of thousands that are negative about Trump and are forgotten by 99.9% of the population by the same day next week.
The Captain knows I'm right about this, and that I always have been.

Now, a team has unraveled evidence of that human influence. In a study published Monday in Nature Geoscience, a team of scientists showed that over the past century, human-driven global warming has changed the character of the winds that blow over the ocean near some of the most fragile glaciers in West Antarctica.
