NO SPOILERS WHATSOEVER.............................
John Wick 3 is a continuation of the story about this high level and highly trained assassin. If you were a fan of the first two, as I am, then you will certainly like this latest installment. If not, you may not be able to enjoy
the sheer energy and power that this movie exhibits.
Yes, it is intense and full of action the likes of which you have never seen before. Yes, I make that bold statement because it is true. This is action
choreographed to the Nines. I mean, stunts galore....think Charlize Theron in Atomic Blonde but on steroids. Plot!? There is one, and they stop a moment to
say a few words - John Wick is a man of few words - which is both funny and
poignant, at least in this world built by the writers: Derek Kolstad and Shay Hatten, and director Chad Stahelski.
JW3 is not for the faint-hearted. If you have heart problems or are squeamish
do NOT go and see this movie. I'm warning you. No BS. This movie takes no prisoners and allows only a couple of moments for you to catch your breath.
Is it all non-stop action without tender moments of human interaction? Well,
let me see...oh yeah, there's one - when Wick meets up with "Sofia" - who's
played by the wonderful Halle Berry. SHE KICKS ASS like no other and is
truly mesmerizing as Sofia, a fellow assassin, seemingly trained by the same folk as Wick. But don't blink or go to the bathroom when she appears. All I
can say is AWESOME.
Berry is all kinds of NASTY in this flick. There are a couple of others of note, and Wick isn't the only one who kicks ass. Angelica Huston, a wonderful character actress of some note, turns in a solid performance in her brief stint in this film. Of course, the solid Laurence Fishburne reprises his role
as the King of the Bowery. Then there's Ian McShane as the Hotel manager, and
Lance Reddick (one of my favorite actors, see Fringe) as the Hotel concierge
are both back, in a big way. But I want to acknowledge two additions that were
both dangerous and fun, in JW's world, Mark Dacascos as Zero and Asia Kate Dillon as The Adjudicator. Both bring murderous intentions and bloody chaos.
Alright, was it perfect? Damn near. You do need to submerge yourself in the world that has been built over the two previous movies, and the creative team behind JW3 does give you some movie candy as well as eye candy. No there's no nudity, but I'm talking strictly action-wise here. There are a couple of WTF moments, but that's minor compared to the overall awesomeness that is JW3.
Is it all murder and mayhem? There is that, but there are a few lighter moments when we get some chuckles. We do get to find out that John goes by another name and why he's at war with the Higher Table. You'll hear that a lot in this movie. Just go with it. But, make no mistake this is an action movie,
built like back in the old days of Hollywood. Brutal and unforgiving stunts.
Pacing, cinematography and music all combine to complete John Wick's world
of murder and mayhem. But the star of the movie is the stunt people. I wouldn't be surprised that they receive some awards behind the superb action
sequences and visual FX. Go and enjoy, or not, you choose.

Also, I just saw Pikachu after JW3. Learned a bit about what Pokeman is about, I guess.

I also felt that the best line in the film was given to Halle Berry, and she delivered it well. It prompted the reply by JW "I get that"
Keanu has made his fortune off of Matrix sequels. this is his gift to us, he doesn't need the cash really.

Wellllll, I tend to agree just a bit. See it in the theater, but with today's
large TV screens, that may not be as important. Still though, nothing beats the movie screen to immerse yourself in the world you're watching - in movies
like Superman v. Batman and Man of Steel - it could numb the senses.
But this movie had going for it dynamic action sequences that almost never repeated itself and got better and better throughout. At one point though, I kind of grew weary of all the action and very little in the way of story.
But that quickly passed. But yeah, the three films are very connected, so if you haven't seen JW 1 & 2, bone up on the first two, then go see JW3.
It will show you something that you've never seen before; old fashioned fight
scenes with very little CGI. It reminded me of the 7 Ups, Bullitt and French Connection movies - only better.
