Yeah. I thought that was pretty funny when I saw it. Anybody with half a brain knows that she's a clown though.

Here's one that's not so funny. I posted it in another thread earlier today, but it's probably just going to get buried there.

Jimmy Dore is pretty far left, and has been for a long time... But he's left about the things that I agree with for the most part, and he's not afraid to call the bullshit.

He's long been a part of TYT, but they've been boxing him out ever since he started calling out the Russia narrative as a conspiracy by the establishment.

I'm old enough and jaded enough to find it funny - even though it's scary-true.

Jimmy Dore is pretty good! Thanks for putting me on to him! I'll be following him.

Yeah. I really like the guy. Been watching him for about 3 years. That's around the time I learned about The Young Turks and how bad a lot of their stuff is. They're just about the YouTube equivalent of CNN. As far as I know he's still on there too, but if he keeps this stuff up they're going to ostracise him and call him alt-right. That would actually be very funny because he's got a lot of pro-socialism views on things like Universal Income, Universal Healthcare and free college. He's pretty much a Bernie Bro.

I'll have to see if I can dig up the video where he got in a heated argument with the head of TYT on a segment and claimed that he was pro-censorship.

I found it.

This is great.

This was right after Alex Jones got de-platformed everywhere.

It should be noted that Jimmy Dore was caught on video just a year earlier spitting his drink in Alex Jones' face.

He had that idiot spinning himself in circles.

But it was a shining lesson in how people can tell themselves they think one thing when they really think the opposite.

Unfortunately, that "idiot" runs TYT, and is pretty much representative of the rich elite and how they like to handle things.

One thing that Jimmy got only part right on that second video is what people who don't buy into the bullshit are going to call you when you swim against that tide. He said that they call you a conspiracy theorist when you don't buy into their conspiracy theory they've been drilling into people's heads for years. That much is true. But from where he's sitting and his long history online it's hard for them to outright call him a Nazi or alt-right... at least not now.

He reminds me of the Democrats I used to know. The ones that used to be on this site many years ago that I agreed with on a lot of things when GWB was president.

Seems there's not much left but crazies these days.

We need more people like Dore out there. Liberals that haven't gone full crazy that can bring people back to the center. God knows that will never be accepted from anybody who is even slightly right of center.

Here's a link to a downloadable PDF file of the poll Jimmy references around 14:30 on Gallop:

https://news.gallup.com/poll/237392/satisfaction-important-problem-tre
nds.aspx

Funny that this poll was put together back in July and this is the first I've heard of it. I've downloaded it and will be looking through it after work.

If it is legitimate, then our resident RUSSIA!!!! Trolls here are representative of less than 1% of the country today. This wouldn't be surprising since less than 1% of the country watches CNN/MSNBC on a daily basis.

EDIT: One thing I did have a chance to look at before I go is the Satisfaction to Dissatisfaction ratio breakdown for the question "In general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in the United States at this time?" that dates back to 1983.

Though the current month's result is 35/62/2 and doesn't sound very great, it has been flirting with the high 30's several times this year.

It should be noted that the ONLY time during the entire Obama presidency that the number was ever as "high" as 35 for satisfaction were two months, all the way back in May and August of 2009. A majority of his presidency was mired in the 10's and 20's for Satisfaction.

How am I only hearing about this now? /end of rhetorical questions

Nice series of videos, SIX! I laughed so hard, tears ran down my legs! (Old lady joke. I hope you don't mind.)
The FIRST Russia Maddow video? I had to keep an eye on her outfit to make sure that it was all from one show. I've got to show these to hubby, I'm sure he'll find them funny.

Yeah, I've got to look at that poll too.

Hallelujah! Dore has brought me back to my democratic roots.

I'll take a closer look at the poll as well.

I have to say - and I know I've recounted this before - there were some very SPECIFIC events at various times in my life where I knew the reality and got to observe the US news being highly dishonest. And not just about little things, and not just for a short time. I got to observe it being entirely dishonest about an African war the CIA was involved in over many years, while the media failed to cover that war at all.

The reason you don't know about the poll is because tptb want to keep us all in the grip of their useful narrative. They want us to be isolated in our suspicions and discontents, as we look all around and see the bland rosy assurances that are presented everywhere as reality.

I think btw that the deep shittters - I mean the deep staters - might sense they're gradually losing control of the narrative. Take the RUSSIA!!!RUSSIA!!!RUSSIA!!! meme. There are only so many times you can beat that horse before it's well and truly dead. And continuing to beat it afterwards - well, it won't do you much good. Which is why Pelosi is now licking a semen stain off of a blue dress. Or the equivalent. Because Trump's taxes will for sure connect .TRUMP.RUSSIA.COLLUSION. together.

Anyway - I thank you again for bringing Dore to the board! I'd thought that pov had been lost forever. I guess I fell into the narrative myself. Because it hadn't been lost - they just - - - muffled the screams.

You're welcome. I've actually posted probably a dozen or so videos he's made over the last few years here, but they were usually in reply to existing threads on various subjects and I don't know if anybody actually watched any of them.

Like I said before, I don't agree with everything the guy has to say about everything, but I could say that about anybody else too. He is one of about half a dozen people who I get my news from these days. He has actually changed my mind about some things over the years as well, or at least he has gotten me to look into things that changed my mind about something.

It's really a good thing he has deep roots with TYT. If he didn't, I fear that he'd be labeled an alt-right personality at this point for how often he goes against the establishment Democrats.

In one of his videos (I believe yesterday), he was talking about Clinton and how the media is trying to humanize her with a publicity stunt she pulled the other day. During that he joked "Now's not the time, Jimmy", as in now's not the time to be trying to split the Democratic party. That's kind of a running gag he's got going on because people have been screaming at him about that since before the 2016 election.

After 19 months of rectal probing, Anti-Justice Team Mueller has not uncovered one shred of Evidence of any Collusion, which isn't even a crime. It can't be that hard to find any Evidence if it existed, it only took a few minutes at FBI/DoJ to realize Hilliary had actually colluded and committed Treason, before they instituted the cover-up.

Sure, there is partisan media on the left, but its audience is much smaller and it lacks misinformation peddlers like Rush Limbaugh and Alex Jones. We appear to be approaching a crucible moment. Robert Mueller appears ready to produce evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to help win the presidency. Federal law enforcement has already indicated Trump himself broke campaign finance laws. Yet I suspect Republicans will greet both developments with a collective shrug. When you hate your opponent as much as Republicans hate Democrats, it is hard to give an inch on anything.

The MSM has a much smaller audience? Smaller than what? MSM has the largest audience of any segment!
And the partisan Left MSM has an endless parade of misinformation peddlers! This is Hollywood, and the reason all Networks but one have no News Departments, they only have Entertainment Divisions producing partisan misinformation "News" shows. They often even put "News" in the title of their scripted production shows, probably hoping to fool low-IQ viewers into thinking they are actual News providers. The lone exception is FOX News Channel, but that is more center or perhaps right of center, compared to the entirety of partisan left-wing MSM outlets. Once upon a time, it could have been argued that CNN had been a News provider, but that was before Gulf War I, and confirmed with the OJ in the White Bronco, when they saw how much revenue they got from the lowest common denominator, and devolved into merely entertainment. Just because MSM is the stenographers and PR wing of the Democrap Party does not mean they have a small audience.

You have broken past the bonds of credulity. You are not even making a pretense of serious discussion, with outrageous nonsense claims like this.

Throughout the campaign, Trump insisted he had no connections to Russia. And after the election, he said he had “stayed away” from the country. The exact opposite was true.

The full significance of Trump’s deception of the American public has not sufficiently registered.

(Has a single Republican leader said boo about it?)

While Trump had pitched himself to voters as an America First candidate who sincerely held positive sentiments regarding Putin, he had pursued a deal in Russia that could have reaped him hundreds of millions of dollars. And he had not shared this salient fact with the public. Needless to say, Trump could not have moved ahead with a major endeavor in Moscow if he had been talking tough about the Kremlin. He was thoroughly compromised as a candidate and hid that from the public during the campaign.

In a non-Trumpified world, revelations of this behind-the-scenes scheming for profit would have set off an enormous political earthquake. This was a significant conflict of interest in modern American campaign history. Don't forget the hundreds of millions of dollars Trump could have made from Russia, money that he swore didn't exist.

Let’s recap for Signym, who is angry, insulted, and lost in the maze:

1) Trump, while campaigning for president, had a secret deal in Russia for which his attorney sought Putin’s help. Trump lied to the public about this.

2) Trump’s campaign was informed that Moscow intended to intervene to help Trump. It said nothing about this information, essentially encouraged the Kremlin, and denied Moscow’s involvement once the Russian hack-and-dump attack became publicly known.

3) Trump, after being told the Kremlin was attempting to subvert an American election, claimed no such thing was happening. He covered for Putin.

Trump aided and abetted Russia’s secret war on the United States — a war that helped shape the outcome of a narrowly decided presidential election. This is all known, and indisputable — except that these days, anything will be disputed by Trump, his followers, and Signym. Even if Trump’s disputations are demonstrable lies — “I have nothing to do with Russia” — they still color and cloud the ongoing public discourse about what happened in 2016. Trump’s disputations have prompted his supporters, his GOP comrades, and Signym to reject or ignore the powerful truth of Trump’s profound betrayal, portraying it as just another debatable point in the grand chaos of the Trump years.

The key quote from the article about Springsteen that Jimmy Dore is using: The point that Springsteen is trying to make is not that Trump is worthy of re-election. It’s that Democrats have not accepted the fact that Trump, for all his mistakes and imbecile behavior, found a "Make America Great Again" message that tapped into the souls of America’s middle class in 2016. Why can’t Democrats find that message, too?

I know the answer to the question: Why can’t Democrats find that message, too? Because there is no way that anybody (Democratic Party, GOP, Trump, Bernie) can do more than a send a message. The Democratic Party has the fatal weakness that it won't tell whopping huge lies like the GOP will in order to win elections. The somebody who can do it, the top 1% of Americans in wealth, are not going to do it. The 1%, at about 3.3 million of them, out number the 3 million federal employees. The deal is that the lower 99% will have to organize themselves against the will of the top 1%. The lower 99% have had 242 years since 1776 to organize themselves and they haven't been able to do it. It won't happen in the next 2 years, either.

Why can't the 99% do it? Because the top 50% of the population see themselves as someday joining the top 1%. Why overthrown the class that they will someday join? The practical answer: because you will never be a 1%er. You won't win that lottery because dreaming that you will, and protecting the top 1%, is guaranteed to keep you out of that select group which actually runs America instead of Congress and the President.

In other words, Trump was promoted based on his success in previous jobs until he reached a level at which he is no longer competent, as skills in one job do not necessarily translate to another. To compensate for his weaknesses, Trump could hire competent people, for his cabinet and staff, but he chooses not to, perhaps because Trump is extremely incompetent?

Honestly, it doesn't matter what it is. He got elected, and despite all of the negative press over the last two years his popularity is over 40%, which is largely the amount of people who voted for him 2 years ago (including all the independents/swing voters).

Other ties between sanctioned Russians and the American far-right are well documented. From Christian fundamentalists to white supremacists to secession movements to fascists in the so-called “alt-right,” the links are as diffuse as they are damning. Not only have these networks brought Russian agents into close contact with higher-ups in the Republican party, but they’ve presented some of the primary threads of the Kremlin’s efforts at upending and unwinding American democracy.

New Trump allegations echo what drove Nixon from office

A new report that Donald Trump told long-time lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about his planned Trump Tower Moscow project could set the process of impeachment in motion, if verified.

William Barr, the president’s pick for attorney general, is among those who have been unequivocal in saying that a sitting US president can be impeached for obstructing justice. “Obviously,” Barr wrote in a memo to the Justice Department questioning the scope of Mueller’s investigation, “the president… can commit obstruction by sabotaging a proceedings truth-finding function.” If, for example, he “knowingly induces a witness to change testimony, [he] can be impeached.”

It ain't going to be over unless Trump steps down voluntarily as Nixon did, in order to get a pardon from Ford. If there is an impeachment, it would end like Bill Clinton's because there are not enough votes in the Senate to convict, regardless of what the facts are.

Trump’s lawyers have always claimed that the president “cannot obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement officer” under the Constitution. Let’s be clear: That is nonsense; it is dishonest and a deflection of the most brazen sort.

The president “cannot obstruct justice”? Tell that to Richard Nixon. Tell that to Bill Clinton.

In Nixon’s case, the article of impeachment listed nine different examples of obstruction; in Clinton’s case, there were seven such examples.

What would such a list look like in Trump’s case?

Trump's going down. America's nightmare will finally be over.

This week brought some major developments on multiple fronts in the Russia investigation.

BuzzFeed News came out with a huge story alleging that President Donald Trump instructed his lawyer to lie to Congress. The story prompted several Democratic lawmakers in the House to call for Trump's impeachment.

Trump's attorney general nominee, William Barr, also faced the Senate Judiciary Committee for a high-stakes confirmation hearing. Barr made a significant effort to assuage Democrats' concerns about his independence from the White House, but some lawmakers are still wary.

Trump's lead defense lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, shifted the goalposts on possible Trump-Russia collusion in a big way, saying he represents the president and not the campaign. He later tacked on a telling caveat: "If the collusion happened, it happened a long time ago."

First lady jets to resort on military aircraft as Trump administration blocks congressional access

Hours after President Donald Trump abruptly canceled House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) flight to visit troops abroad with a congressional delegation, first lady Melania Trump jetted to Mar-a-Lago, the president's exclusive Palm Beach resort, for a weekend vacation on a military aircraft.

The first lady boarded the aircraft on Thursday at Andrews Air Force Base, according to multiple news reports. Quartz estimated the flight cost U.S. taxpayers $35,000.

Read the first paragraph - pretty well states the options. He's an idiot or a stooge or some combination of the 2. Glad to see national opinion agreeing.

https://www.wired.com/story/president-trump-mueller-russia-agent-putin/

Trump Must Be a Russian Agent; the Alternative Is Too Awful

"IT WOULD BE rather embarrassing for Donald Trump at this point if Robert Mueller were to declare that the president isn’t an agent of Russian intelligence.

>>>> THE PATTERN OF his pro-Putin, pro-Russia, anti-FBI, anti-intelligence community actions are so one-sided, and the lies and obfuscation surrounding every single Russian meeting and conversation are so consistent, that if this president isn’t actually hiding a massive conspiracy, it means the alternative is worse: America elected a chief executive so oblivious to geopolitics, so self-centered and personally insecure, so naturally predisposed to undermine democratic institutions and coddle authoritarians, and so terrible a manager and leader, that he cluelessly surrounded himself with crooks, grifters, and agents of foreign powers, compromising the national security of the US government and undermining 75 years of critical foreign alliances, just to satiate his own ego.

More:

In short, we’ve reached a point in the Mueller probe where there are only two scenarios left: Either the president is compromised by the Russian government and has been working covertly to cooperate with Vladimir Putin after Russia helped win him the 2016 election—or Trump will go down in history as the world’s most famous “useful idiot,” as communists used to call those who could be co-opted to the cause without realizing it.

At least the former scenario—that the president of the United States is actively working to advance the interests of our country’s foremost, long-standing, traditional foreign adversary—would make him seem smarter and wilier. The latter scenario is simply a tragic farce for everyone involved.

We’re left here—in a place unprecedented in American political history, wondering how much worse the truth is than we already know—after four days of fresh revelations in the public drip-drip-drip of the Russia investigation. The past two months have seen the public understanding of the case advance into almost unthinkable territory. Now we’re simply trying to figure out how bad things really are.

Consider: On Friday, The New York Times reported that the FBI opened a counterintelligence investigation of the president himself in 2017; on Saturday, The Washington Post published a story saying that Trump has gone to great lengths to cover up and hide—even from his own aides—his interactions with Putin; on Sunday, columnist Max Boot outlined the case for Trump as a Russian asset; and on Tuesday the Times came back with an authoritative recounting of Trump and Putin’s interactions, a recounting that included a bizarre telephone call from Air Force One where the president tried to argue off the record that contrary to the unanimous conclusion of his own intelligence community, “that the Russians were falsely accused of election interference.”

Like so much of the strangeness of the Trump era, these new revelations are simultaneously shocking but not surprising. Of course the FBI wondered why Trump’s actions toward Russia and the intelligence community were so aberrant and felt compelled to investigate. But to fully understand why these revelations matter so much in the grand scheme of the special counsel's investigation and the Russia probe, it helps to understand a bit about spies and the unique, dual mission of the FBI—which is tasked not just with enforcing federal criminal laws but also with protecting the nation’s secrets, politics, and economy from undue foreign influence.

I’VE SAID BEFORE that one of the most misunderstood aspects of this investigation—from the start and to this day—is that it began by targeting the Trump campaign and Americans like Carter Page and George Papadopoulos. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Page and Papadopoulos (and m

It ain't going to be over unless Trump steps down voluntarily as Nixon did, in order to get a pardon from Ford. If there is an impeachment, it would end like Bill Clinton's because there are not enough votes in the Senate to convict, regardless of what the facts are.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

I’VE SAID BEFORE that one of the mos
