Hehe.... My energy costs are up 28% so far this winter Wish, and I keep the thermostat at 59 degrees :)
If I looked only at the temp..... and at the 2nd sump pump I had to replace in 8 months or my snow blower not working today or the Union Plumber wages I'll have to pay tomorrow morning to rod out my pipes to the street... well.... yeah..... what's so good about it, right?
There's a lot of stuff to keep us happy in down times though, right Wish?

I'm sure there are much happier things we can both appreciate than how barely-bearably cold it's been and will be for the foreseeable future, right?

I'm sure there was no possible way that I was showing this level of optimism consistently back then. I probably had at least 6 beers in me when writing this, or maybe 12 or 24 even.
But it looks as though I still had a healthy level of introspection despite that fact.

Now, I have a gripe about this time of year. For the last couple this phrase of "sober curious" has been going around. The younger generation are making it sound like some sort of magical mystery tour. And it's not. In fact staying sober period isn't that hard to do.
There's my gripe.

Don't tell that to an alcoholic.
Good for the kids though. Get off those smart phones and stay away from liquor and you're probably going to live a happier life.
