Damn.. I really wanted this week to go slower( sorry guys) it's my last week of of school before I go back to the 120 mile commute and 8 hours of walking and sitting , which normally wouldn't be a bi deal, but being 6 months pregnant kinda make that harder)

75 here this morning, but at least the awful humidity from last week broke on Friday with the torrential rain we got. Don't mind the heat so much if the humidity stays low.

temps over 100, no AC, no fans and 6 months pregnant... was defintely bad. I ended up going home by 11:30. Luckily they fixed the A/C and it's taking a bit but the building is cooling nicely.

Also, thanks to our own Stinkingrose. I managed to get cool, more or less comfy, and got a decent nights sleep... happy day:)

I have a few pre-schoolers in my TKD class.
Apparently I get their best behavior (which is still not great, but is sufficient to keep me from ending them) on account of my intimidatin' nature.
I can only imagine that a roomful of the little monsters -ehem- darlings would be likely to result in a few less going home than came to class...

Managed to survive getting attacked with a baseball bat without even bruises (I've been practicing ), only to twist my ankle while goofing off I mean training with padded quarterstaves.

Iced it for 45 minutes, popped a few tylenol & I'm trying to keep it elevated. *sigh*

Oh well, something else to look up in Gray's Anatomy.

I am testing for my 3rd Dan black belt on Saturday & need to demonstrate that I can defend myself. TPTB were non specific as to how. I decided that baseball bats were common & could put a serious hurt on a fella, so I set about figuring ways to avoid gettin' whacked.
My daughter (17, will test for 3rd Dan in a year) launches random attacks now & I do very well. Adult men still worry me a bit, (because mistakes have /serious/ consequences), so for them I specify which attacks to use.
I have to say, having a 250# man swinging at you with intent is not for the untrained nor the faint of heart.

LOL It certainly seemed that way initially!
The first few sessions were pretty short.

We agree that it's time to train, she picks up the bat, doesn't tell me where she's going to hit me, and starts swinging.
All sessions would end when I received a serious thump (numbed, really painful or partially unresponsive limb, wind knocked out of me, or a blow to the head).

Good times... good times.
