fantastic!:) loved it:)
breathless opening to the next arc.
a whole heap of the happening crammed in but good -
none of the editing traumas of earlier eps.
joss deals the critics many one-liner backhands and the one liners are CHOICE.
there's a deftness here - awkward elements from prior threads are handled very skillfully.
great liquid artwork from Karl (apart from willow)... though the odd 'hottie' shot may nark some.
question - do readers feel that renee was allowed a fair chracterisation in the comic as a whole?
and compared to satsu?? that was my biggest beef with Wolves at the Gate. But since the last issue Xander is just on such top form that i think it was worth it.
ok then, put the moves on Red and i'll kill you like a chicken.

I thought it was great, too. My only disappointment was that Mel was in it so little, because I'd been looking forward for months to seeing her again, but that was about the only complaint I had with it. The art was kinda up-and-down, but Moline is working on these four issues because of "Fray", not because of his ability to draw the main "Buffy" cast. So I can't be too hard on him for that. He IS "Fray", so I wouldn't want anyone else working on this arc but him. (I actually liked his Dawn better than Jeanty's.)
Just like every arc-opening issue, not a lot happened in this one, so it's tough to say "Wow, what an amazing issue! My favorite yet!" But it's my favorite among the four "Part One"s (#'s 1, 6, 12, and 16)...

I agree, I thought that the new artist meant that we would be leaping into Mel's world at the beginning of the issue, not waiting until the end....
but it was a great issue! Poor Xander: things seems to just go from bad to really horrendously bad!
And Dawn! LOL
I thought it was funny that Joss got a little peeved at people shouting "shut up Dawn" at the sing along OMWF, but then he does nothing but make fun of Dawn whining (and now whinnying) in the comics!
Poor Buffy, she is kind of under dressed for the world of Fray!
New Firefly fans should check this out: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=15816
DON'T MISS DR.HORRIBLE! Nathan Fillion sings!!!!!

my guess is that a lot of Buffy readers
(the comic is a runaway success after all)
haven't read Fray... so there's a need to bring information over slowly
- but it worked for me as a wicked tease:)
plus the scenes wth the regulars were very strong... did that jet plane seem a little wolfram and hart-ey??
and i'm still chuckling to myself at the fact that Joss must love being able to 'cast' whomsoever he wants - no diva antics from the comics!
is Twilight from the future possibly??
oh and i'm still struggling to think of anyone other than a watcher who would say 'moral indignation'.
