RP Green Room for "Procrustean Karma"

I am thinking of starting an RP, but not with the crew of the Serenity.

"Dragonfly - the trials and tribulations of the DF Class Frigate Justiciar[/font]

EDIT: I am adding this, so I can sorta come up with the 'oppsite' view from Maro.

Without further ado...

Mal's voice over during the cast roll ...
"Here's how it is: Earth got used up, so we terraformed a whole new galaxy of Earths, some rich and flush with new technologies, some not so much. Central Planets, them was formed the Alliance, waged war to bring everyone under their rule; a few idiots tried to fight it, among them myself. I'm Malcolm Reynolds, captain of the Serenity. Got a good crew: fighters, pilot, mechanic. We even picked up a preacher, and a bona fide companion. There's a doctor, too, his genius sister from some Alliance camp, so they're keeping a low profile. You got a job, we can do it, don't much care what it is."

It would be a group of post-war disaffected Alliance folk and retired Federal Marshals who found out the hard way that they were used. They don't feel they were on the right side of the war.

So, they quit their jobs or (if military) were 'rolled-out'. The main cast is based around a Fighter Craft Crew Chief (forcably reitred Seinor Master Sergant) by the name of Marovech Rahn.
(yep, the name is from an old DnD Character and the last is, of course, my ID )

He and his 'sympathizers' (engineers and his ground crew)scavanged and 'kitbashed' their own ship out of - primarly -Firefly class transports.

It is slightly bigger and to keep within the 'bug' aspect I am calling the 'new' class the 'Dragonfly Class Frigate'. Thinking of calling the ship the 'Justiciar'.

Explanation of the (overtly highbrow)Series Title "Procrustean Karma"
Definitions are a good place to start, 'speccially for those not who have not been exposed to Greek/Roman Mythology.

Procrustean: (pro krus te ann)Exhibiting merciless disregard for individual differences or special circumstances. -After Procrustes, a mythical Greek giant who stretched or shortened captives to make them fit his bed-
{Much like the Alliance tries to make everybody 'fit' their ideals.-editor-}

Karma:(kar'ma)The total effect of a person's actions and conduct during the successive phases of the person's existence, regarded as determining the person's destiny.

Now you may see how this title accurately applies to the crew of the Justiciar.

I have the fwd engines set so a 'power boost' could be done by directing both engines 45 degrees (up or down)and the fore/dorsal engines exuast (mixed correctly by the pilot) feeds the aft/ventral engine ... it think it is called hot fuel packing or somesuch. End result: Zoooooom!

Yoiu catch the 4 shuttles and the "Starship Trooper" esque retrevial ship planted on the nose?

Ships and tech can't just look purty, it's gotta work!

Spending 6 years working on B-52s and KC-135s sorta helped me get that ... um ... picky

The sorta purple/blue things are the shuttles ... the aft ones I fergot to put back in on the dorsal view after I noticed I had a superstructre-blocking-the-shuttle problem.

Red is the Captain's gig and main Bridge.

Heh, wait till you see the aft towed {collapsable) cargo containers ... makes you think even More of a Dragonfly.

Oh, and she has guns ... ever hear of Metal Storm, it is a real munitions system ... so it seems ...

Ooh it sounds very exciting, Capn!! A new RP scenario--with new crew and such will give everyone a chance to really build things from scratch--not having to stick to what was set up in the series, etc...This is to be an RP like the one we're runnig now, right?

Yep, but I am gonna be the gamemaster/Director as well as Cap'n Marovech Rahn.

And of course any BGA(Back Ground Actor) or any other NPC.

Gonna have rules, but not too many ... gotta keep it loose as to be fun.

Meebe have a ACT breakdown to help steer the story. The 'Cast' could help decide the most basic framework for the episode.

OH, and yes, I am going to try to keep the threads format same as a TV script ... Teaser, ACTs 1-5, Coda. Sorta like we are doing now in or RP "BB" aka "AnGR".

OR I may choose to make the Major a Fem ... just for you! If you don't feel comfortable playing the opp. sex.

If you want to wait and read the bit of history I need to write for the Major and then STILL do it as a female, sure!

The name is an Anagram of the friend of mine who may play him in my proposed fan film = Tony Hlas.
