Was wearing my Miranda shirt at teh gym and the guy running on the treadmill next to me looks at my shirt and totaly deadpan says " sure would be nice if we had some grenades right now" I almost fell off the treadmill laughing....

NVG- love the sig, it is a good philosophy. Reminded me to breathe just now, thanks.

Of course "chant" got a song I'd heard a couple of times running through my head. My mom had an album... I'll have to see if she's got the lyrics somewhere, because part of it's not in English.

(approximate phonetics from what I remember from 20 or so years ago:
"wich i ta ta gi ni ra o ra nic o o ra nic o hey ney hey ney no ah")
followed by
"water spirit feeling running round my head, makes me feel glad that I'm not dead"
(back to first part)

Then of course there's Sandra Boynton's "Grunt" CD. The Abbey of St. Snouto deMoinko presents Gregorian chants in Igpay Atinlay, and general silliness, like the chickens' "Pax".

Nurses calling in sick. The one who'd been least likely to survive was one of them. This was her second sick day in a week, so she'll not be returning. Boss is interviewing two more tomorrow.
They're threatening to not let the newbies anywhere near me any more, because I seem to be scaring them off or something. (It's not really me. I hope...)

Final word is that the nurse I've been covering for is coming back April 28.
Whew.

PR! Great to see you, sounds like your busy but hopefully enjoying things as well.

I'm sure it's just where you work SR and nursing is one of those jobs where you really need a vocation (like teaching) to do it properly and I'm amazed at the numbers of people who try to either without it.

I am doing two uni courses at the mo, one lvl 1 maths and one lvl 2. Just got back the first assignment for the lvl 2 assignment and got 96%, actually 2% better than my first lvl 1!

making wonderful food rocks. i just found a load of awesome sounding recipes online (to try to break away from the routine andy and i have gotten into in terms of food lol). i even found one for new england clam chowder ^_^

I have some great and fairly simple recipes if you want them...

1 Pan Chicken
1 C rice ( uncooked)
1/2 C chicken broth
3-4 chicken breasts
1 large ( 32 oz) can Italian stewed tomatos
1 pkg frozen spinach
1 Tbs garlic powder
1 Tbs each basil and oregano
1/2 C mozzerella or feta cheese

In a casserole dish layer rice, broth, chicken, tomatos ( don't drain them) garlic, basil, oregano, and frozen spinach. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1- 1 1/2 hours. Remove foil and tet chicken for doneness. Then sprinkle on feta ( or mozzerella) and place under broiler for 5 minutes until brown and bubbly.

It's super easy and really nutritious with all 5 food groups grains ( rice) meat( chicken ( vegetable ( spinach) fruit ( tomato) and dairy ( cheese)

Thanks for the encouragement everyone.

I *am* one of the nurses who entered into nursing without it being a "calling". I can still care about what I do without having delusions of "angel of mercy" status.

I'm in a women's health/family planning clinic, so it's not like it's even a really scary floor in a hospital.
Boss interviewed two, hired one today. Short term only (but I did suggest that if the nurse who's coming back after a long hiatus decides she can't stay we would have someone up and at least partway to running to cover our bases).

It's not me, but I can *pretend* I intimidate people!

Tried fencing tonight. Fun stuff!

*hugs back* i'm doin good, closin in on the end of the semester thank GOD, and working on doing an independent study in the fall with my astronomy teacher since i'm not registered for any classes (i have to take a leave of absence cuz i have a five week tech school to go to for the Guard, but 5 weeks is only a third of the semester, so i have a whole big chunk in which i'll be doing nothing, hence, studying the stars ^_^)

Yea! Now I have to do re-write a rough draft, and it's a peice of crap designed to drive the teach mad, but now I think I'll go mad *grr!*

No, I'm not bombing my grade. What happened was with the writing assignment, you know we're studying Romeo and Juliet, and we're at the part when Juliet drugs herself. Well, our assignment is to put ourselves in her shoes, and write about what she hears/smells/hears, etc. And I wrote a peice of god-awful drivel, with some gross parts at the end, and now I have to read it again and write it out! This is souring the revenge a little bit.

OK so new job is at district. Basically I drive from school to school observe kids, and help teachers figure out how to deal with problems.... lots of driving, no real internet time ( as you can tell since this is the first time I've been in since Monday)
