Thanks for the encouragement everyone.
I *am* one of the nurses who entered into nursing without it being a "calling". I can still care about what I do without having delusions of "angel of mercy" status.
I'm in a women's health/family planning clinic, so it's not like it's even a really scary floor in a hospital.
Boss interviewed two, hired one today. Short term only (but I did suggest that if the nurse who's coming back after a long hiatus decides she can't stay we would have someone up and at least partway to running to cover our bases).
It's not me, but I can *pretend* I intimidate people!
Tried fencing tonight. Fun stuff!

Ah, a thread with food and swords, two of my favourite things.
(Didn't Tristan and I nearly get barred for starting a duel in here? *eyes the slightly wonky chandelier* Oh, yeah...)
We did have a recipe thread, but it went quiet. I'm ticking over quietly at the mo - three weeks until new kitchen...I have the new, big, shiny range waiting in the garage already - but I can dig out some foodie stuff. Have recently been on a muffin kick - banana fudge muffins for preference.
