Firsties are always nice. SO I'm filling out this tracking sheet and the memory dealy thing skullside is tryin' to keep up. I get to burning more energy using my memory that amny other things. Recall is fragmented to time and energy ae wasted doing so. SUCKS!!!

Though I don't know the song, usually NVG uses a song title in imponderable threads he creates. You might already know that, but if not I hope that clears it up a bit.

Everyone needs a bit of thawin' out. We're extremely lucky to have gotten near sixty degree weather off and on for the last few weeks. At least the sun is out. When the wind quits blowing or there is something to stand behind it's down right pleasent.

Man, 'extremely lucky' is right - up here, it just won't quit snowing, and it's driving a body to drink. It's getting fracking dangerous - last night we almost derailed two locomotives because the ruttin' snow and ice built up so far underneath them. I think this is why the ownership recommends cancelling operations in inclement weather....HAH!!!

Well, on a lighter note, I bought a shiny new snowboard today - should oughta expedite lighting a candle instead of cursing the darkness.

Hello Steamer:

Wisconsin is getting its share of the white fluffy stuff this year too. We are supposed to get a lot more snow Sunday. I think we have already broken a record for the amount of snow in a year. What really gets me is it never stops. We get one day of clear weather, which means it is sub-zero, and then it snows again. Sometimes just an inch or two and then others it is twelve to eighteen inches. The one this Sunday is suppose to be heavy. So if you know anybody in the market for snow we are having a sale. Special rates for large orders over 1000 cubic yards and free delivery. If we would turn all the ice machines off in the resturants and just throw snow in our super size drinks we might get rid of some of this muck.

Notice I stayed away from discussing love.

And Traveler, thanks for staying clear of the L-word. As for the S-word....well, that is the other S-word....I WISH somebody around here would conjure up something that creative to do with all this white crap. I finally joined the Hall of Fame tonight - had a derailment due to ice build-up. Luckily it was just an empty car, but this is like the eighth derailment we've had in a month due to icy conditions. Damn railroad has been around for over seventy years, don't you think they'd know how to cope with winter in New England by now??? :P

Hello Steamer:

Derailment! I have not heard that word for a long time. My father worked for the Chicago and NorthWestern RailRoad for twenty years as a claims agent and traveled all over the midwest to investigate derailments. Sometimes he would come home with a toy or other items from the wrecked boxcars. He was gone a lot and the railroad kept transfering him from Chicago to Omaha and back again. We have pictures of the many homes we lived in during that time. I don't even remember most of them. Work for a railroad if you like to travel.

I'm pretty sure you'd still need to sleep. Sleep is important for the brain to function. Storing long term memory or something like that.

Plus why would you want to give up dreaming? It's pretty interesting to me. I've dreamed up all sorts of crazy things over the years.

Plus I'd think it would be harder to get women as a cyborg. Sure he might have the stamina thing going for him, but there are already battery powered devices around. Humans still have their advantages and disadvantages I guess. Plus plenty of womenfolk like having them there babies a lot.

Erm, I'll go with "good for you!" and then wait for the inevitable "You NEVER post photos of yourself! How come you NEVER post photos of yourself!" lecture from fellow posters.

It's not that I'm perfect looking, it's just that cyborging seems a bit drastic. Think I'll go with something a little less extreme, like a 20 minute walk a day and less chocolate or something.

But with cyborg body parts you could skip the walk and eat chocolate for 20 minutes a day!

Can Cyborgs taste chocolate?

Okay, so I can skip the diet and exercise, but there's still the minor issue of, well... being a robot. It just seems a tad extreme. Like having painful, potentially dangerous plastic surgery. For extreme cases yeah, sure, it can add so much to your quality of life. But to take a few inches off your tummy without going to the gym?

Me! *raises hand*

Not that I like it. I mean Summer and the lady who plays Sarah are hot enough. The plot is just not doing it for me. The writing is poor IMO. There is just way to much obvious stuff being used to trick the viewer and too many lines that attempt to be deep but their sheer stupidity point out how flawed they are. I mean "chess is a game of total destruction". Have you ever even played chess? The only objective is to trap the king. The game almost never ends in total destruction in fact. What kind of writing is that? Argh!

Well it's an established franchise. The show is so brain dead that if you think you'll find plenty of plot holes. There are hot chicks.

I think all these things are music to Fox Exec's ears. So, I'm guessing it will be picked up for more episodes. Rumor has it the terminator's head doing the time travel thing was a Fox exec decision. So, apparently the show runners are happy to blindly do their master's bidding. That should help as well.

Fox Exec: "We would like there to be a new terminator in the series played by Carmen Electra. We would like Summer Glau to fight this terminator for no less than 20 per show and they should only engage in mud wrestling combat."
show runners: "Sounds great!"

I want to live forever...

Thinking about it though, I would have to have sensory organs or devices implanted. I like the taste of food way too much, so I'd still want to smell and taste, and I like sex a lot, so I'd still want to feel that. Hell, senses all over the body would be cool, a la a Terminator.

I watch Sarah Connor Chronicles, though I am in agreement about the plot being a little too easy to predict.

Hey, if The Matrix and Terminator could do it...

If you haven't begun mass-producing them yet, I'd like a couple extra features on mine-

4- Looks completely human (no wiring bits sticking out of stuff like that)
5- Is changable (features, colors, hair lengh, stuff like that, all able to be changed at a whim)
6- Able to hook up to computers, MP3s, Ipods, cars, whatever, download info, and
7- Have a built-in MP3 so you can listen to music as loud as you want without disturbing anyone else
8- Be able to increase IQ substancially

I'm just picky, aren't I? LOL But could you do that for me, pretty please?

Naturally. I'm fairly serviceable as far as mad scientists go...

'Sides, I really dig those ideas!

1- An utter absence of tonsils
2- Fancy arm-canons & stuff
3- Sensory organs
4- Human looks w/ an assortment of features
5- Remote control gizmo à la T-X

Does anyone else ever get to the point where there are so many things that need to be done that you don't know where to start and you just want to do nothing instead? That's how I feel today. There's all sort of emails and problems flying around and I just want to say f' it all.

Zeek buddy, you sound like you need some time to yourself. What do you do away from work? Judging from your willingness to start chipping away and the work ethic comment you truly do work hard. But what do you do to relax/recreate?

Remember that recreation really means to re-create.

Last night was poker night. That was sorta fun. Except that I didn't end up placing in the money. Though really it's just a friendly game and not about the money. Other than that I usually just relax at home. I think we have a local browncoat housewarming coming up this weekend. I'll attend that.

But that work ethic thing tends to get in the way of recreation time as well. For instance monday I got a call from someone at work and I helped out with a problem for a few hours that night. Which pretty well cuts into the relaxation factor. The problem is that I know we're on a tight schedule and that those few hours really helped us meet deadlines. I know for my own sanity I shouldn't even have given them my cell number but whatever. I'll live.

How about physical recreation? Of course we all have social lives (or try to) away from work (hopefully). I get what you're saying about deadlines and such as long as you don't let it get in the way too much. Life away from work keeps us sane from just that.

Sweety it's oxygen mask time... you know on the airplane they tell you to put your own oxygen mask on first before helping others. This is because you can't help anyone if you're unconscious. The same applies to work. If you burn out and get sick or crash, then nothing will get done and you'll miss the deadline even worse... you have to take care of you...HUGS

Physically I just exercise some on my own. I've got free weights and a cardio routine. I'm not too into actually playing sports. I'll watch em but playing them is usually too much of a time sink to appeal to me. I'm sure I'm a bit on the crazy side of wanting my schedule to be wide open. That way I can choose what I do and when. Heck poker night and First Sunday browncoat shindigs are the only things that I really leave on my calendar as set events. The rest of the time is for me to figure out what needs to be done.

You could laugh at your friends because you will know they are going to fall on their ass in front of acrowded bus stop.

Or you could buy the best puppy in the world because you know it will behave and not eat your shors.

Yea! I go with God. No more speeding tickets because I know where all the speed traps are.

EVILNESS EMBODIED IN FLESH edit: AND METAL

I must admit that I am having mixed feelings about the "god" thing. Sure, limitless, unadulterated power and all-encompassing knowledge have a certain appeal to them. But at the same time, it feels a little overkill. I mean... The point of this whole thing was to cyborg (yes, I'm using "cyborg" as a verb) a fair portion of Earth's human population which I would subsequently turn into mindless husks (through the use of some fancy brain wiping widget) so they could serve as canon fodder for my latest "World Domination" scheme.

You see, I want to be a ruler of men. Not some all-powerful deity.

Holy crap. I went to get an estimate on the tiny area of scratched up paint from the fender bender last week. Estimate: $575! I'm assuming their plan is to remove the whole bumper and repaint it.

Argh I feel bad for the girl who did it now. She'll probably have to get her insurance involved and deal with a rate hike for such a small amount of damage. But I likes my car to look pretty. And as my mom said scratches in the paint can lead to rust. grrrrr $575 is extortion. I'd like to know how it's going to take them 5.5 hours to paint that bumper. Maybe I can sit there and read a book while they do it just to force them to take 5.5 hours to paint a bumper. I'd like to see that.

I did learn something very important about the exceptionally attractive women in various areas of the US: they are used to be intimidating with their looks so guys just talking with them isn't a usual thing, they are a bit thrown and curious about guys who aren't intimidated by their looks, and they usually self concious (more so in some cases) and a bit on the low side of self esteem more often than not. Now women of natural beauty who can be beautiful inside and out are neither intimidating nor are they forceful. They will not make you work for their attention and do not require your undivided attention.
What you hope to score Zeek depends on your ultimate goal.
Do you want
A)a hot babe with whom you can have short conversations before she rides your Rodney.
B)a friendly acqaintance whom you can eat with, and call upon for the occasional booty call.
C)a steady girlfriend with the beginning commitments of a long term relationship.
D)a girlfriend who will jump right into a relationship regardless of the length of time or depth of knowledge between you.

Really, C is the healthy choice in my humble opinion. Taking time and a little effort pays off. to me A is the road to either doom, an empty wallet, or a pattern of hollow relationships. B actually fits as a nice regulator for many people over the age of twenty one in these parts. It means they are careful with themselves enough to experience what's out there with lessened risk of disease or emotional pain. And trust me, TRUST ME on my opinions of D. It can work with a healthy pair of individuals who suddenly believe in the passion and commitment of eachother. But one unhealthy partner in a D situation can cause anger, hate, and resentment faster one can imagine.

There are a ton of incredible women out there waiting for some normal guy to step and show that they are all man. But beware. There is also a strong contingent of incredibly hot women who please with their nethers but make you pray for a quick death otherwise. Think of them as the bowl of sugar. It's sweet and can cure the cravings but ultimately it is a hollow pursuit with little consistancy. The good ones are the ones who posess he same amount of sweetness but in conjunction with a holistic treat. They took the sugar and created a wholesome and satisfying dessert that is easily adapted to any meal.

Reflecting, the dumbasses can have the impulse buy candy displayed at the Wal Mart check out counter. I'll stick with the apple pie/baclava/devils food/bear claw/chocolate mousse...

Yeah I pretty much figured that I have a great line now simply by the nature of events. I can just walk up to her now if I see her again and be like "Hi, I saw you here a while back and was kicking myself because I didn't approach you. I'm not going to let that happen again." and see where things go from there. Seems fair enough and honest. And yeah C is the option to shoot for. And my usual route there is to meet someone in a social situation and get to know them for a while before asking them out. This girl was just amazingly hot and I figure it's unlikely she's going to pop up again in a social situation so I have to find a way of getting her number and getting to know her on a date. I mean it's worth a shot. Though I'd be shocked if she was actually available.
