Wow. First it was Down to Earth, then it was Pootie Tang, then it was Osmosis Jones, then it was Bad Company, then it was Head of State, and now it's I Think I Love My Wife.
Is this man is ever going to accept that fact that he's not a leading actor?

He's offered a ridiculous amount of money to play these parts. Why would he turn them down?

Anybody read reviews on how Gina Torres did in this movie? Sounded like a high profile role for her.

While that may be true, the director isn't the only one that gets a say in casting.
Also, "lame acting" can really only be within context. As in, if a stupid silly comedy is being done, then we don't exactly need a Gwyneth Paltrow or Russell Crowe level actor as someone like Jon Stewart or Dave Chappelle would do i.e. it just depends on what you're going for.
EDIT: As some above has asked, has anyone seen this movie? B/c that is what really determines if it missed the mark or not. Whether they got to where they wanted to go.

True, but if Chris Rock is directing a movie, you can be pretty sure that Chris Rock's going to be in it.
And as far as the 'lame acting' comment goes, I was just speaking in generalities. Guy doesn't so much act, but rather talks in varying volumes at people, regardless of what movie he's in.
