BUFFY/ANGEL mag article about Emma Caulfield kinda pissed me off.

Apparently she said at some convention that she didn't feel that Anya represented "all that she could do".

WTF?!

She said a while back that before Anya, she didn't know she could do comedy. I think, and I believe that others will agree with me 100% on this, that this character (and show) proved that she's pretty flawless at it. The show also showcased her ability to handle drama, horror, singing and dancing, etc. Not bad for a supporting player!

That said, her movies since playing Anya have only shown that she's just as capable of crap as she is in quality .

So, wtf did she mean by that?

I'm at a loss as to why her comments would piss you off. It's not as if she's down playing Anya as a character, or taking shots at the writers. I might be missing something here, but she just seems to be saying there's more to her than being Anya. I'd say 99% of the actors out there would say they're more than just the ONE character which defines them the most to the public.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

I was probably overstating it. I was more annoyed than pissed and it's entirely possible that I misread her intention behind the comment, because it seemed to me that she was putting down her experience playing Anya.

Edit: I reread the article and tried to look at it more objectively and adding with it the comment she made about feeling that acting in general might not be her calling-which was not in the same part as her previous comment so I didn't connect it-I see that I probably did misread it.
